Fun thought: Set up an anti-hammerer room.

A room with a lockable door with masterwork adamantine/steel sitting inside works for starters.

I don't see the problem. If criminal scum are idiotic (or insane) enough to pummel people/break things in a fort with a badass Guard Captain, they deserve what they get.

Those dwarves will learn their lesson. THEY WILL LEARN, I TELL YOU!!
