Mushrooms not being harvested
« on: April 04, 2009, 08:45:55 am »

I have a very strange problem with dwarf fortress: My farms are full of ripe plump helmets, but my dwarves are not moving them to a food stockpile. I took a screenshot of it too:

As you can see, my furniture stockpile is also full of empty barrels for my mushies to be stored in; yet they are left to the fields to rot.

Do you have any ideas about what may be causing this?

Are all your farmers busy?  If so, try setting the options menu to "All dwarves harvest".

Make sure you didn't accidentally turn off food hauling in (o)rders.

Thanks, that helped! For some reason I had "Dwarves ignore food" on :S guess I hit it accidentally.

Funny how the dwarves have no problem ignoring food.

You all do know that we everytime we gen a world in DF, a new universe is created somewhere, and everytime we delete a save we kill a whole world?
Aye, we are Armok, god of blood, evil, villager gutting, fortress building, legend making and elf thongs.

You aren't the first, won't be the last.  It seems that with all the buttons and shortcuts, things get pushed by accident, esp when we're first figuring this out. Enjoy!

Yeah, this is one I always recognize right off the bat because it happened to me right when I started playing and I posted a "bug report" about it.

Just had this same issue, lol... And the stupid thing is I had checked the orders screen several times, but didn't seem to catch it.  That menu really isn't too readable unless you know what you're looking for.

The next suggestion was that the food stockpiles were all full, or somehow didn't accept PH's.

Could well have been that there wasn't mush room for any more mushrooms.

I couldn't help myself. Sorry.

A tendon in the skull has been torn!
The Raven has been knocked unconcious!

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.
