hello there!

my game has been crashing at one given point for a couple of times now.

let me explain,

There seems to be a point in time where my game will always crash. i played for 15 minutes off a fort i've been working on. crashes. reload the save. play 15 minutes, crashes again.

It tells me:

Nemesis Unit Failed Loading  (or something along those lines)

im using 40d, and using the Guybrush 16x16 Tileset from this pack

from what i've seen/ been told, this mean your save file is corrupted. if it always happens after a certain amount of time, it's probably the traders arriving (or perhaps a seige) and the game being unable to load them properly. the same problem occured with me, at the same point it would get the nemesis error, and it persisted until i loaded and played from an earlier backup of my fort

if you don't have them already, turn on autosave and autobackup in the init file:

[AUTOSAVE:SEASONAL]
[AUTOBACKUP:YES]

unless you have a backup of your save, you are probably boned in regards to this fortress.

Well luckly I do have a backup.

When I get the chance I will see if it works

I loaded back a bit to my Autumm Has Come save. it still gave me the same error around the the same time. how far should i go back?

i re-installed 40d too (keeping my fortress files), no-luck

If you can go further back, try it.  There's no way for us to know how far back the corruption occurred.
