hishan you gotta have a hell of a lot of lego to do that.
maybe I have a lot of lego :P
I do too!
sadly, it's all locked up in other buildings, and I'm so OCD I'd want a proper model, with space to put a dwarf on each tile.

Mostly I dont use much more than designating inaccessible tiles for mining to mark off distance, but for my statue I wound up first making preliminary sketches, then spending a day or so modelling the whole thing in sketchup before I started.

My approach there was to build a 1x1x1 block, then copy it over and over. So virtual lego, more or less...

Actually, I have a few drawings of insanely mighty projects.

Whoa, I have a bunch of graph paper I found somewhere...I'll have to use it to start planning more epic forts than the ones I've been building.

I just doodle it out, without graph paper. Probably not the most accurate but I know what I mean.

yeah, i just doodle too.  i rough out designs for major fort sections, and mabey note the room dimensions for large areas.

it usually happens on the backs of envelopes and stuff.

also i use paint.net(some times),blender(to make a 3D modle)and then normal architects paper.

That last gobbo would stand there, missing an arm, punctured in a kidney, liver, and spleen, fading in and out of consciousness at the far end of where the drawbridge would go, and his last sight would be the drawbridge dropping down and smashing him like a bug.

God DAMN I love this game!

I plan the fortress(normal size is 3-5z down and 24X10 area, about 20~70% dug out) in my head, using my imagination and Intelegance Intelagence Intelligence.(if ya wondering my IQ is about 137  ;D )
