Not sure if this is already known, but I didn't see it on the reported bug list.  I want my broker to trade at the depot even though more items are still marked to be brought there (I want to make sure I get at least some trading in before the caravan leaves).  I turned off all jobs for my broker, including all the hauling jobs, but the broker continues to bring items to the depot until there are none left to bring (or I undesignate them for trading).  He will only trade once there are no more items to be moved to the depot.

My broker often trades with only half the items there.  I'm not sure what determines that.

Also everyone carries stuff to the depot even without hauling.  It's odd.

Depot hauling, along with construction removal, floodgate construction, and lever pulling, does not require any labor turned on, so any dwarf can do those jobs regardless of labor settings.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I can add some new vpl settings for these.  They were originally left out long ago so that nobles would help with certain tasks, but that doesn't mean they can't be in the list.

Set it to default on and nobles would be uneffected.  Either way I'd love to have this toggle.

I agree, the specific issue with brokers bringing items to depot instead of trading is one that has always annoyed me.

I've always had more issues with my broker preferring to keep records, manage work orders, dump stone, mine, harvest mushrooms, eat, drink and even clean before trading. I would suggest fixing this by making trading a high priority job (or something like that) so that the broker always takes it if it is available rather than by adding another labor category.

...Could "Harvest Plants" go in the list too?

Oh, yes, seconded.  I tend to have "all dwarves harvest" on because then I can have all my idlers harvest, but it also meant that my important dwarves (legendary blacksmiths, n' such) also harvest.
