Well, I have 3 techs in open research. If I chose to research just one this turn and the discount was on another one I would have been sad. Do you see where I was coming from?

I do not understand your confusion. It specifically states in the brackets that the bonus is for a tech researched this turn. So a started tech from a previous turn would be irrelevant.

I read that as one random tech (of those your civilization has begun researching) will thus turn cost 1/2 rp. :(

So... When is the next update coming?

Sorry, I'm going to declare this dead. Updating became a dark and looming cloud, and isn't any fun anymore.

For those who wondered, the barren fields started from me balancing 1FP tiles min-maxed for food. They were safe to harvest with one person about once every 5 years. I later expanded it, but only one person saw the effects of over-foraging a tile and getting less food.

They could have been pretty useful for a nomadic player.

Jungles gave more food, too, but had the sickness and killer animals. The jungle acclimation tech could have had some interesting later techs for guerilla warfare, and been much harder to get after the tribal stage.

Major bummer, though I sort of suspected this would happen. Guess all my hopes now lie with Aspects of the Divine.

Out of curiosity, is there any particular thing that caused updates to be so problematic?

Bummer I liked the direction this one was going in.

I can't point to anything in particular about the game itself. I'm just not a very good GM.
