I think in Dwarf Fortress/data/init/init.txt, you need to change
[PRINT_MODE:STANDARD] or whatever you have it set to to
[PRINT_MODE:TWBT]

(note that if you run vanilla game without dfhack it reverts to standard if it doesn't recognize the command).

The issue is that < and > trigger an error about TwbT instead of changing z-levels, not that TwbT isn't working. I'm guessing that something is invoking "TWBT" instead of "twbt" - the command is probably case-sensitive.

bo_knows: If you press "?", the help key, and select "The Many Menus" with +/-, you should see something that says "use 82467913<> to move the view window around". If the last two keys are different, you should use those instead to move up and down z-levels.

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

Would there be any objection to me hacking in the Masterwork raws, and packaging it up to dffd (appropriately marked as unofficial, MDF, etc.) for use by that crowd?

I've done this on my macbook, and so far DF itself seems to work with the MDF raws.

Nope, no problem at all good buddy.  Knock yourself out.  :o (Sorry, I couldn't help myself, I really want to play the new MDF)  Do you think you'll be able to get the settings file to run?

Do you mean the program that MDF uses to change settings? I tried that once, long ago, and it proved to be basically impossible because Meph was unwilling to move to anything that would run under non-Windows (what he was using didn't even work with Mono), although that could have changed - I haven't really been keeping up with it.

It would just be the CLI - I run "dfhack" from a terminal, and it appears to run fine.  I can even run the GUI (say, with "open MacNewbie\ Launcher") and click "Play Dwarf Fortress", and that works.  So MDF is playable, but raw changes or setting changes must still be done by manual editing.

I used to know tcl/tk (back in the Dark Ages), so I skimmed thru the rest, and see a lot of tcl/tk stuff ... but nothing that looks MacNewbie-specific (unless I just missed it...?)  Is there anything modifiable, or is it all wrapped up in binaries?  If so, it may be possible to do more for MDF (and, if tcl/tk, for Linux as well); if not, well, it may have to be my current collection of sed and grep ...

McAfee is showing that AnnouncmentWindow.app as OSX/Backdoor.Eleanor https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/e7bd019911eb4394c6df427a4c544938fabf703b309e875eb005dcb7f58571a4/analysis/1500481903/.

None of the other major AVs tag it, so it's probably a false positive. But just thought I'd share my findings.

It's almost certainly a false positive.
