Wicklewild IC (Canceled)

Day 0

Divetio received his letter of acceptance while still in the desert. Upon burning the letter, a small blue flame appeared. It floated near you for a moment, then over to a nearby cactus. Upon contact with the flame, a section of the cactus detatched itself and grew four limbs. The resulting cactus sprite looks like a very small cactus, that walks on four smaller upsidedown cacti. A small blue flame floats in front of the creature, and seems to be its eye. It makes a gesture for you to follow it, which is highly unusual for a cactus to do. You know that Wicklewild lays far off in the distant north, so you assume that this is a guide to lead you there. It projects a map using it flame eye, and shows you that you must head south to a completely empty section of desert about four hours away. With no other options, you follow the strange creature, despite it taking you the wrong direction. About an hour and a half later you notice phantasmal trees around you. One or two at first, and they only appear near you, fading in the distance. When you reach out to touch one, your hand simply goes straight through it. You continue to follow the strange cactus, observing the strange phantom trees. It is not until you look behind you that you're truly astonished, a grassy trail stretches out behind you rimmed by pine trees and woodland. When you return your attention forward, you are no longer in the desert, but instead walking along that woodland path behind a small walking cactus. A cold wind hits you, and you come to understand that you have traveled a great distance somehow. The power of such a spell is not lost on you. What is lost on you however, is where the cactus went. Magic fades from the air around you and you realize you are on your own to navigate the rest of the way.

When Merindi burns her letter, a small blue flame appears and floats near her for a moment. Then it plunges straight into the ground. A small horned beetle composed of solid rock digs its way out of the ground nearby. A small blue flame floats between the beetle's two horns. Using that flame it projects a map nearby, showing you a path to a nearby cave. You've visited it before and know that it is both mundane and shallow. Before you could argue with the rocky bug, it departs towards the cave. Having few other options, you follow the tiny golem. It leads you to the cave and continues inside. You sigh for a moment, but follow it down. The tiny guide creates a clicking sound as its stone limbs clatter against the stone of the tunnel. Only a few minutes later it reaches the rear of the cave and can go no further. Or so you thought. It crashes into the rear wall and continues onward, uninhibited by the solid stone. Surprised, you feel the back of the cave and confirm it's solidity. You can hear the click-click of the beetle fading into the distance, muffled by several feet of solid rock. Angrily you walk to the mouth of the cave, determined to get back at Wicklewild for this cruel joke. However after you exit the cave a stiff winter wind hits you. This is a bit startling, as it was quite warm when you entered. You look around and find yourself in the middle of a pine forest. You turn to look back into the cave, but there is only woods behind you. It seems you've traveled an incredible distance in only a few moments, and as a mage with some knowledge of spacial magic, the immense power required for that sort of spell is not lost on you. It appears you've been left alone to navigate the rest of the way. Likely some sort of first test or something.

First, we shave off our moustache, because eww. Then we use our divination spell to discern the direction in which Wicklewild lies.

(This is not a suggestion game. If you'd like to play, feel free to create a character in the OOC thread).[/s]

Actually I'm going to cancel this due to lack of interest and just go for a general RPG.

Merindi realizes she has just been subjected to a grand work of teleportation without realizing it. She ignores the test for now, and tries to review the past few minutes and the surrounding area to glean some clues of this magic, which lies so close to her specialty and area of interest.

((Oh wait, this is canceled? Awwww))

Yeah, as much as I'd like to run it, almost no interest was shown. So I'm going to just run a miscellaneous adventure game with some of the same elements.
