"We thought you might say that", the wife says. A shot fires and the Tabledrops look to see a young man, barely an adult holding a rifle.

At gunpoint you're forced to allow them to take what they want. "This is madness", your husband strains, "we are only 40 miles from the nearest town!" They seem affected by this new information, but do not stop... that is until your eldest daughter stands behind the young man, hands now raised. "Woah, darlin, don't be stupid." exclaims the wife. "We are only taking what we need. You wouldn't want anything to happen to your family, would ya?
"Take what you have and go", moderates your husband.

They oblidge and when all the Droptables have a rifle drawn and some distance is made, she kicks him in the ass as he shambles to catch up with them.

The spring grass has not fully set here, leaving your oxen hungry. There's a side trail you can take which is moving in generally the right direction. There's no saying when it will connect again with the main trail, but it definitely seems like it will have more grazing.
