No, I don't think magma currently destroys constructions . Glass walls for instance don't melt when surrounded by magma.

You could make a pressure plate next to the support that responds to magma...

Open Dwarf Companion.
Change everyone to a megabeast.  
Give them all fffff for their civ.
Revive all dead dwarves.
Change all 'dead' dwarves to zombies or skeletons.
Explore in adventure mode.
