"...Excuse me, but why the fuck do we actually need a leader at all? It's not like we can't function just fine without one."

"Our leader said we need a leader, and what the leader says goes! Now we just found another survivor, which I thought was nearly impossible. Lets stop being distracted and talk to the poor guy."

"Yes, And I don't have a bunker, so i am a little... in trouble."

"I was already wearing my suit when it happened."

"You where wearing the suit and don't have a bunker? You got lucky, buddy. I guess everyone who survived was lucky, in a way. So, uh, how did you eat and stuff? We are about to go on a trip across the country, knowing how to eat and drink inside the suit would certainly be useful."

And I told you there would be more survivors."

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

"I've been able to drink by replacing my air tank with water, and kept my caloric content up by doing that with other drinks."

"I thing talking to the starving man we just met is pretty logical. And I totally didn't believe you. So, uh, you where right Caroline, sorry for doubting you and all."

"I've been able to drink by replacing my air tank with water, and kept my caloric content up by doing that with other drinks."

"I am REALLY not in a good situation, and this is actually making me really exited, considering that."

"My god, how have you been able to survive this long on drinks alone? I mean, even just expelling-you know what, lets not think about that. I was planning on stopping in whatever air-tight places we find on the way over to get out of our suits for a bit...we can backtrack to our bunker if we need to get some food into you. I can't think of any other place that would be safe around here, and it still isn't that far away."

And with that you assimilate the clearly struggling man into the group. Wrenches were distributed to the people without weapons. You decide to leave the farmhouse upon finding that there was nothing worth taking.

You walk more or less North East. You walk past farmhouses with no useable foods or drinks, welded metal tools, and dead animals everywhere. If it were different you might have heard Old Man Jenkins yelling at you from his porch to stay out of his fields. Many derelict cars and trucks lay in the street. None of them had anything useful in the slightest.

You come to a stop about thirty miles outside of the town of Ravia, your hometown. You stop and decide to eat some of the candy and drink some of the sodas.

"See? That was a brilliant technique I came up with. Now we can eat solid food without trouble."

"So Alex, where is the farm you wanted to go to? We have had to walk for...thirty miles or so by now. They can't be too far away now, right? If not, we might have to find somewhere to hold up for the night."

As everyone argued over the role of leadership, Alex intentionally kept herself clear, occupying herself with the search for ammunition.  Returning with it conveniently after it had died down, she distributed it as needed.

"So Alex, where is the farm you wanted to go to? We have had to walk for...thirty miles or so by now. They can't be too far away now, right? If not, we might have to find somewhere to hold up for the night."

"Yeah, shouldn't be more than five or ten minutes more.  We lived a decent way out of town, but we're almost there."  She looked up at the sun.  Without any atmosphere, there was no hint of the usual tell-tales of a sunset that she had once been used to, but it was low enough that the horizon was beginning to nibble at its base.  Covering the thirty miles in over ten straight hours of constant walking had taken it out of most of the group, herself included; back in the days of cars, the thirty-mile drive had been maybe a half-hour's trip, or an hour if you took the back roads.  Nowadays, though...she wasn't sure how they'd make it all the way across half the country if they decided to press on, especially while hauling their own air and food.

You decide to camp out in a field. You all sleep well. Except for Daniel. He sat awake trying to sleep for at least an hour. Staring at the moon, with no atmosphere to block some of the reflected light, was torturous. The stars were bright and clear in the sky. He held up one hand, as if reaching for the moon. Eventually he did drift off to sleep. Restless as it was. You all awake feeling refreshed and ready for another ways of traveling.

You pass a few farms, looking in the outbuildings you find a few little morsles still good. In one you find a large wheelbarrow. This is gonna be a long day.

A little less than 1400 miles. Your friend has been missing for about a week and with the air gone, getting there is the main objective. ((See it as the main quest line. There are other things you can do, just suggest something you want to do and I'll try to find a way to steer it towards it.))

The wheel barrow still works because the steel axke and the aluminum wheel aren't stuck together. It will hold about 190 pounds of gear.

Which direction do you want to head off in?
