I modded the game to play as humans, but no dwarf caravan?

So, after making humans a playable race, I nothiced that I wasn't getting a dwarf caravan at all. Can someone help?

Maybe you don't have them nearby?

Did you give dwarves progress triggers?

By default they do not have these triggers, so you will have to add them yourself. You can just copy them off of another entity such as humans or something.

They are tags within the entity file. The elven triggers look like this:

[PROGRESS_TRIGGER_TRADE:1]
[PROGRESS_TRIGGER_POP_SIEGE:3]
[PROGRESS_TRIGGER_PROD_SIEGE:0]
[PROGRESS_TRIGGER_TRADE_SIEGE:0]

The number argument can go from zero to five, and correspond to different levels of population, production wealth, or exported wealth.

Oh my god, I came to this thread hoping for a solution because I've been dealing with that for years.  I thought it was just an oddity with modded races and mountainhome using entities, but now I see that I was making a mistake all this time.  Dwarves simply don't have progress trigger tags.

I humbly offer to you this internet cat leather.  Hand picked as the finest of the hides obtained during the most recent wild internet cat hunts.  You are awesome and deserve this fine prize as a thank you.
