fruits and nuts

Autumn has come to my fort, and I noticed odd colored rings around the trees I had yet to cut down. I thought maybe leaves, but when I looked at them with k, it said they were pecans. so I checked another, peaches. almonds, hazel nuts, and a few apples all out there lying on the ground ready for the taking. except they weren't. I couldn't figure out how to pick them up and its really bothering me seeing them just sitting out there. can anyone shed some light on my problem?

They are just an "infusion" coating the ground for now. Gathering them is planned to be added in soon.

But yes, we will apparantly be able to harvest these in the near future. Pretty exciting! I wonder if we will be able to plant multi-z pecan trees and the like?

that would be cool as well. also, I noticed elves selling "grown" versions of crafts. does this mean they grow various crafts on trees? CAN I GROW MY OWN ORCHESTRA!?

I found some grown wooden armor pieces in a cyclops' lair in adventure mode. I also note that large elf sites have "shaper trees" which currently are just big trees with names as far as I can tell. I suspect a connection.

As I recall, this was always a piece of lore for the elves, and explained why they hated regular wooden goods but were able to create their own. Now it's just defined properly.
