What to buy on Steam?
« on: November 26, 2013, 10:04:19 am »

Hello. I have a question here. I'm getting $20 on Steam and I need to spend it wisely, there are so many games to choose from but here's what I have in mind:

Team Fortress 2 Premium or
Garry's Mod

I don't think Garry's Mod would be suitable since most servers in GMod require CS: Source along with it, and both are 24.99, and I'm getting 20 only.

Those are likely to go on sale before the year's over :) Why not wait? :)

There is a rumor that an autumn sale starts this week on steam, so you might want to wait a few days.

Autumn sale? Isn't that, like, a month or two ago?
Winter sale will start soon enough though, thanks to our lord and protector Gaben

Everyone says this and yet, I don't see it. I think people just bought everything they wanted in in earlier sales so it seems worse because there's not much you're interested in that you don't have.

Unless you're expecting free stuff like winter 2011 but people abused that so bad I don't blame steam for never doing it again.

According to that leaked email from a few weeks back, the Black Friday sales are this week. The same sales will then be repeated in mid-December for the Holiday Sale.

Of course, Valve might have changed their sale schedule to compensate for the initial leak...

Yeah, there's most likely a sale coming, so I'd say wait.

I find steam sales tend to be a bit of a crapshoot. Sometimes you get really great games for really great deals, and other times you get really crummy games that nobody wants for really great deals. It's all just luck of the draw.

I like Craft the World. Not sure if I'm liking it in the long run yet. The fighting aspect is driving me tad nuts.

Umm, why would you pay for TF2 if it's already free?

Buy 20 Humble Bundles. Including DLC that's about 100 games.

Shitty games, but you can always pirate the fun ones.
