If we had to fill out a captcha with each post it might make things a little less spam-filled around here. Just think it might be a good idea that's all.
When starting a new topic, yes. Otherwise no.

Christ forget I said anything about Captcha. It was just an idea I had that seems to work on other places without affecting how many people post or whatever. I'm going to go kindly fuck off now and likely not bring this up again.

Don't worry about it, if you hadn't brought it up someone else would've.
Trust me, it always pops up. Besides, the idea was good. Needed some downtuning, that's all.

But what if having captchas is like taking half a course of antibiotics? Instead of blocking the spambots entirely, it just results in them bringing in almost-slave-labour Indian men to solve captchas and tell us about kitchens?

It would increase the cost of spamming on this forum, and they might instead focus on other, less protected (and thus cheaper-to-spam) forums.

How about requiring a captcha for Escaped Lunatics that start a new thread? (or, after reading MadMalkavian's post, is there something evil about captcha's that I missed?)

Also... Why kitchens?

We already have a Captcha on account creation. Since pretty much every spambot only manages to post once before getting banned, more Captchas won't do much.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

This whole thread reminds me of this thing.

Hahaha, that was genuinely funny.
