I had crashes (save that always crashes at the same time) with version:

3c: Dwarf Mode
3c: Orc Mode
3c: Kobold Mode
3d: Dwarf Mode
3d: Orc Mode
3d: Kobold Mode
3e: Dwarf Mode
3e: Orc Mode
3e: Kobold Mode
I never had such crashes. Random ones, maybe, but nothing that broke a save/world completely.

I think I just leave dwarfnamesadvanced in as an option for players that want to run it manually on their saves. Although I no longer think that it has to do with any crashes.

I know Add-Spatter is responsible for a 100% crash at embark for some people. I do not know the cause for this.

I suspect the dwarven caravan to be the problem with the reproducable crashes that have been reported, with a crash in mid/late-autumn. I think they might have access to a material or item that crashes the game as soon as they enter the map.

Sometimes, when I try to load up a world it appears a message saying that the memory cannot "read" and then the game closes, it's really annoying, bbut nothing serious, and normally is because I touched something on the settings, but is just a matter of  don't go "stark raving mad" and load it again. :D

My second turn's unnoficial goal was to turn everyone into vampires, and it backfired so bad, I ended up making the fort a more efficient, safer and friendlier place.
Apparently they evolved a taste for everything I love and care about

Keep getting these (respaced for readability):

Code: [Select]
*** glibc detected ***
./libs/Dwarf_Fortress: double free or corruption (!prev): 0x98f12bf0 ***
======= Backtrace: =========
/lib/libc.so.6(+0x73d11)[0xb73b6d11]
/home/urmane/games/Dwarf Fortress/MW3f/Dwarf Fortress/libs/libstdc++.so.6(_ZdlPv+0x21)[0xb75b4061]
./libs/Dwarf_Fortress[0x88c7863]

Sometimes it's a different msg.  Seems like one or more scripts might be attempting to do some sort of move or delete twice on an object ...

I have a region saved that usually only runs a minute or so before crashing, but it's on a linux box - let me know if you want it.

Here's another one, no backtrace:

*** glibc detected *** ./libs/Dwarf_Fortress: corrupted double-linked list: 0xa3eb21f8 ***

Brand new embark, probably only a month in.  This region, however, I changed the mineral scarcity from 2500 to 100.  I had only the first few piles/workshops up and running, bunch of trees cut and plants gathered.

Well, at least you get some info about the crash. "corrupted double-linked list: 0xa3eb21f8 "... any idea what that means?

I assumed so far that the crashes are from the dwarven caravan or a dfhack script. But I went through the entire list of embark items, all look fine. And the caravan wont bring anything different from what you can bring at embark.

    • Let's Play Dwarf Fortress: Mastwork Mod Season 1

A double-linked list is a type of dynamic list used in a lot of programming languages. The last part is just the memory address.
