I played paintball for a while. That's not airsoft, of course. Also have a BB pistol but I needed like 12 shots to hit something a foot away from it, so yeah. Not impressed with accuracy.

If you've got tons of money to waste, there's plenty of things other than airsoft to waste it on, such as:
1. paintball
2. warhammer
3. video games and computer parts
4. investing it so you can retire decades early, supposedly

What if one enjoys airsoft? I dont have an air gun of any type myself(yet!) but even if you dont play airsoft, they have some good features: you can get one without a license probably almost anywhere, they're cheap, they're cheap to shoot and one can do it at the backyard or even indoors.

No idea why I'm posting here, my closest experience to airsoft guns was some cheap chinese things that were being sold by peddlers at stoplights for like $3 each.

A friend of mine bought a "desert eagle" cheapass replica. It was alright. Then he got a spring from a real gun, and replaced the one in it, then used the gun to make holes in concrete with the plastic balls. We also dented a few hard disk platters with them.

Then the pistol exploded. Good times.
