Are our weapon-ranges only a few tiles?

Anyways, send some armed Spawn over to investigate. Maybe two or three.

Left out writing the rolls this time. Thinking about it, they do give an indicator about how hard we fail or suceed, but as I obviously also can display it in text there is no real need for them. Small update. Might get another one in sometimes today or tomorrow. Also, my activity will kinda be restricted with traveling and stuff - updates only will come if I am in the mood - and have internet. Not sure what the higher hurdle will be. ;3

First off, you confirm with Thar'sh that he really wants nothing to do with it, but seeing as the Protervee hate the Ignothal, he has no qualms about leaving the ships fate to you. You are close to your destination anyway, so you also could split up, and should you decide to do any hostile actions, he will do so.

You hail the scout, but there is no indication that he heard anything. Sure enough, the ship is in such a bad shape that it would not surprise you in the slightest. Thus you let three of your spawns – outfited with weaponry that could damage an Ignothal – board the ship. They soon reach the survivor, and he is very responsive, instead of being hostile. You make him the offer about taking his ship, and leaving him to his own devices at the next station, to which he promptly disagrees. If you would give him safe passage to any area controlled by Ignothal, Atano or Vagusi he would change his mind. If you were to bring him to the ice-planet he would even give you legal documentations about the exchange.

You are somewhat tempted to just let your spawns shoot the guy, and declare his ship as liberated from the raiders – wich he actually just might be, considering his current position in this system – obviously quite too close for comfort towards his racial enemies. Thinking about it, that actually might be good grease for getting on the good side of the local Protervee...

Thar'sh wants to move along now, but since you already guided him that far – and you would find your way there now anyway – he just gives you the exact coordinates. The Ship might be gone in five hours, and you are pondering what exactly the best course of action would be.

What is your decision on the matter?

Why don't we just shoot him?

Worst-case scenario, we find out what's up pretty fast.

Wait, to help him we just have to take him to a planet and the ship is ours? I say that we should help him. It's the less risky option, as it doesn't involve us killing anybody, neither getting into trouble.

I'm not so sure...but if it comes down to a tie, I'll change my vote.

Capture the bastard alive and strip his ship.

Interogate it on the last leg of the journey. If you can make him confess to piracy, hand him over to the Protovee. Otherwise, shoot him when we arrive in their system, and forget about the matter. We will sell his goods somewhere a bit further away, just in case they were originally stolen from this station we are visiting.

Edit: But before we do anything hostile, ask him for the coordinates of places where we could take him. We might as well learn where to find some Ignothal and Atano we can raid befriend later
