Completely unrelated, but could we get a world seed? and maybe a vague estimate of where that site is on the worldmap? and I guess the version you're using would be important too.

Update: three more babies last evening, and closer to the falls from the dining room than the river. Then the save got corrupted, so game over.

ext time, what if I put a statue under the water with eight grates around it?

Re: the seed, I'll see what I can do tonight. I'm using Fortress Defense mod- just adds extra races to fight. I have a backup save, so I'll pull the seeds from there.

Will update!

Is there a dead human at the bottom of the waterfall?

My guess would be, that the pressurised water was pushing your dwarves down the well.

Nope, unicorn. Like I mentioned, crawling with 'em.  :)

Might I offer a suggestion for any map that has a waterfall already on it. Build a tunnel through the waterfall.

Code: [Select]
X -ground/rock
7/1 -water
. -floor
= -wall
# -grate

z-0
XXX
7771
7771

z-2

If your only path to the surface/dinning hall is through this waterfall tunnel then everyone will mist up. Also it is possible to put grates down like this, just have to keep trying. Also, no muddy anything, no flooding.

As I mentioned, I'm using Fortress Defense mod, v34.11.
I know the mod will change the layout of settlements, etc., but I imagine that since the layout of rivers and the assignment of evil and savagery happens first, that it would come out the same even with vanilla races?

We can find out if we get the rough location of the river junction, right?

I have an idea. Let's play a game where you win by being as quiet as possible.
I get it, it's one of those games where losing is fun!
I spend most of your dimension's time outside of your dimension. I can't guarantee followup or followthrough on any comments, ideas, or plans.

If the number of world rejections doesn't change, it should stay the same geographically.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Thanks for the world seed.  For anyone looking for this embark site using vanilla DF, the site is covered up by a civilization by year 250.  It was there when I set worldgen for 5 years, though.

This picture is the world map at year 5, with the embark site noted.  The embark site is a "good aligned tree" icon (if the arrow isn't clear enough).
