You can make a D13 from the two most unholy dice in existence. All you have to do is roll a D10 and a D4, add both numbers, and subtract 1.

That gives you a nonlinear distribution, much like how a 2d6 has a different distribution from a 1d12 (allowing for the different ranges).  To illustrate:
1=(2-1): 1+1
2=(3-1): 2+1, 1+2
3=(4-1): 3+1, 2+2, 1+3
...and so forth.  Easiest way to simulate a d13 is with 1d20, rerolling any out-of-bounds values, or if you're quirky enough, a d14 or d16.  The only fair d13 structure is a rolling pin, which are admittedly still much safer than those caltrops. ^_^

Also, if you wanted a 1d10 system badly enough, couldn't you just use White Wolf?  They're pretty big, and while I haven't checked any of their new products in years, I thought they still used the same basic d10 engine for their major products since V:tM, albeit with balancing tweaks and alterations.

My name is Jason Horton, the creater of the Vasta Terra RPG tabletop game, and thank you for commenting about my game.
I stumbled upon this site talking a little about my game and would like to clarify up a few misunderstandings that I have read.
1st- The video posted up on youtube was created by a family member that had good intentions of letting people know about my game. I have spoken to him about removing the video game he was showing, as I also felt it would confuse viewers.
2nd- Some people seem to not understand what the game is about or what it is? For this I can only say to watch my posted video on the kickstarter or facebook page, and read all the information I have posted. I am more than happy to answer or clarify any questions about my game.
3rd-a D10 die system may use one or two die for rolls through-out a game. Someone posted a statement as too why only a D10 that was not typical. Any true tabletop RP gamer would have a full set of dice from a D4 up to the D20 which would include at least one D10. I chose the D10 to streamline the rolling which would make the game run smoother for the gamer.
4th. Someone mentioned that perhaps I was only trying to scam money from people! this statement has left me in shock, since kickstater has very strict legal rules were a end product must be produced. I only strive to create an enjoyable game set in a post apocalypse setting. I also have already printed up softcover beta books for my play testers which I am more than happy to post images of as proof of an end product.

Sincerely,
Jason Horton

People don't psychically divine the content of your game, they've read/watched what you posted. Saying "read it again, bitch" is entirely unhelpful.

I know you're committed to not divulging any meaningful info (I'm guessing you're afraid people will steal your ideas? :-\), but seeing as how this is one of your game's two distinguishing features, maybe you'd like to elaborate on how rolling a single d10 is easier than rolling a single d20? Or you could contrast yourself from the WH40k Roleplay System (a popular d10 system, which people might also know.)

I'm really not clear what gameplay ideas make this RPG especially compelling, compared to others. All I have to go on is a small amount of art and flavor text, some races and classes, and the knowledge that D10 dice are used. That's it.

Maybe you can write an example of play that showcases the unique elements of your game? All I can gather from the character is sheet is a bit bland and GURPS-esque. I know there's plenty of people who would like the setting, but why don't they just play Pathfinder or GURPS or something? The whole alt-history setting isn't an extremely novel idea, not enough to sell a book on its own.

As others say, it's not that no one is interested or need individual points clarified but just that on the whole, there seems to be little to showcase it as being different. The video and kickstarter talk a lot about the theme/setting, but we're not showed it in action.

As Sensei says, showing it being played (at least an element that is different) would really help people realise how it's different (especially the D10) and why it's worth backing.

Truth be told, I'm not a massive pen&paper RPG fan, but I've got a few friends that are that I've forward it to, and they're saying similar.

Like others have said, it's just really unclear what this game is even about or what makes it special.

The way it read for me he is trying to be polite, so there's no need to be rude. At least give him a chance to explain.
