Go pick floors at random until I find the volcanic lands or desert.
[12] You end up going down to the very lowest level, and sliding open one of the gilded doors on the landing. It leads to a circular room in the same red and gold style as the staircase and most of the big room containing it.
Upon sliding open one of the considerably bigger doors within that room, you are met with a howling wall of snow. Deciding that this is neither a volcano nor a desert, you pull the door shut again, straining with its weight.
[8] You go up a few levels and try again. This time the door opens to a solid rock wall. Helpful.
[11] Going back down to one above the one you tried earlier, you find that this room is considerably smaller than the previous two- more like a waiting room or entry hall than a lounge or barracks.
Opening the door reveals another surprise- a gilded porch with a waist-high wall awaits rather than just a wall of rock or snow. Stepping outside reveals that there doesn't seem to be a door out of it; it's just a circular walled platform with a roof.
Unfortunately, the view is nothing but darkness. Glowing lights on the wall appear to provide illumination within the veranda, but reveal nothing outside.
[3] You go up near the top and try yet again. This is another porch, although this one appears to open up to a dark red sky with volcanic, ominous red lands below. You also appear to be
really high up.
The imp sighs, seemingly unfurling a scroll from nowhere and glancing at it.
"In descending order, that would be a dark realm, a forest, volcanic lands, solid rock, open desert, and a snow blizzard."
-Alright. I should know where these places are based on the location of the other places. I'll check out a landing, see briefly what is on the other side, and know how far up and/or down I need to go to find my areas.-
Locate and briefly survey my areas.
You enter the first landing, emerging out onto a gilded porch.
The view does not match any of the imp's descriptions- it's a massive, sprawling city of gold, with various things you can't really make out flying throughout the air. Some of the closer ones seem almost like winged horses or carriages or people, though.
Interestingly, about two-thirds of the porch are just golden walls; only part of it is exposed to the air.
Stumbling out, you try the next floor down, thinking maybe there's been a mistake. The door opens to darkness this time, with some dark bluish stone barely visible past the first step. You... suppose this must be the dark realm.
The next landing should be yours, but it's not; it's another smaller room followed by a porch. The sky is dark red and the land far below looks ominous and volcanic, being a shade of red itself.
On the bright side, Snake mentions that the ice area is at the very bottom.
Before that, you try one more level down, which is another larger room. It turns out to indeed be the forest, though you think the imp undersold it somewhat- the place looks massive and primeval, moss-covered behemoths of trees towering high above the moss and leaf covered floor.
You duck out of there and head to the very lowest level, which you find to contain nothing but a howling wall of snow. You shut the door after letting in only a moderate amount.
"ANGER..."
Attempt to remove my bloodlust. The lack of smashale things and people should help.
What bloodlust?
(I actually suggested a demon that the imp owes a favor, not the other way around, but it doesn't really matter terribly)
Ask Imp where "Doodles" may be located. Ask the assistance of Herald in building a wooden cage, in addition to temporary access to his forest realm for that express purpose.
((Oh, oops. Still, same general problem applies- if there's someone he owes a favor to, he probably doesn't want to put him on the fast track to power.))
The imp has vanished, and Herald appears to ignore you in favor of exploring the staircase.
Fortunately, sitting around has its benefits, and the imp eventually reappears. You ask him your question.
"He's still in that chamber for the moment; don't want to get blood on anything important, after all."Previously...A dragon...if there...areany. Given...humanoid...form with...wings anda...tail.
Yeah, transforming a dragon isn't likely to happen. You'd have to convince one, for one thing.
imp: maybe a female all the other were male.
Eh, sounds trivial. You don't think the Master will be very impressed with his unique Apprentice being a bog-standard serf of the other gender.
The imp shakes the Whisper Stone. This doesn't seem to be working so far. Also he should probably check on the Apprentices to make sure none of them have gotten themselves eaten just yet; he'd like to know if he's actually got
two Apprentices to find.
