Dwarf Fortress Crashing!
« on: August 23, 2012, 03:17:56 am »

I saved a game and exited. I turned my computer off because I was going somewhere. I came back recently, and turned it on. I ran the Lazy Newb Pack and started soundsense like I always do. I selected "Play Dwarf Fortress!" And everything runs as usual. I selected "Continue Playing" and selected my save. After about 8 seconds, I get the "Dwarf Fortress.exe has stopped working" pop-up. I've waited a few minutes, but it never starts. I've tried restarting it a hundred times. Any suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Thanks in Advance--

The only difference between a human student and a dwarf is that dwarfs have the ability to create and destroy matter.
So will the dwarf with the broken spine recover and use a crutch?

Dwarf Fortress is still in alpha I believe, and it can bug out and crash, or die. Depending on how old your computer is and how large your save is it might just take a really really long time to load. Or your save was corrupted.

You could try running it without Soundsense or the LNP and see if that helps.
Or you could download DF again and load your old save.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

Well that sucks. It was my first ever successful Fortress... And it gets corrupted. *sigh*
