Our character has no name but is instead called various insulting and demeaning names by his master. He was taken in as a child by the Warlock Ferox and has no memory of any events that preceded his induction into the apprentice life. Sometimes though at night when he sleeps, horrible visions of a village burning and bloody flaming bodies fill his mind before he wakes up screaming.

On second thought, such things are irrelevant for the time being.

A boy about your age shakes you awake. He is your fellow apprentice and only friend. You blink a few times and look around the small cramped room with two beds.

"Wake up sleepy head. The old goat wants us."

The two of you walk down to the summoning room. It has two circles of salt and various objects on shelves in it. The master is nowhere to be seen. The door shuts behind you.

"Great. Another one of his tests."

The shelves are stocked with bird talons and bear claws and other body parts. There are jars of dirt and water, and spices.

A statue of a gryphon in the corner of the room comes to life.

Jorn grabs a jar of water goes over to one of the summoning circles.
