Support for big rooms

How big a room can you dig into stone without a cave-in, if any cave-in's would happend from that at all?

I'm asking this because i'm about to dig out a huge ass stockpile area, and i've always had some ceiling support in "big" rooms i've dug before.

In this version, there is no limit to room size before cave in. In the 2D versions, a support was needed every 7? tiles.
