To do lists are certainly a great help. Makes you able to just let go of all those things floating around in your head.
Myself, I decided to put off about 4 tasks untill tomorrow and next week. I did manage to read about 30 pages of chemistry though. Felt great. Afterwards.

Hmm.. I have a whole bunch of stuff that I've been classifying as 'errands', things that need less than 20 mins of work. Mostly phone calls to certain people, googling certain things, bringing other things to a tailor that I regularly walk past. Sometimes even contacting long lost friends and relatives to say hi.

The funny thing is that they're all very easy to do, yet just inconvenient enough that I'd rather lie down and read webcomics instead. And they never really go away until done. They're not particularly unpleasant to do, in fact, it's more unpleasant sitting around thinking about doing them or asking someone to do it or having it at the back of your head. And I spend so much time making excuses about them... traffic must be bad, it's nearly lunch hour, they're not open this early, it's almost closing time, I don't really need it this year, etc.

To do lists have been awesome at chopping them out of my life. I do a lot of them now, just for that 'quest accomplished' feel.

I've been trying something new to help me from procrastinating all the time.  I've made myself a schedule for Saturdays and try to follow it as closely as possible.  The idea is to have at least one day of the week where I'm actually being somewhat productive.  I even have scheduled gaming for breaks.  It looks kind of like this:

09:00:  Project Design/Research
09:15:  Code
10:15:  Make Meal plan for week
10:30:  Shopping
11:00:  Game
12:00:  Eat/Game
01:00:  Learn/Build Electronics
02:00:  Tidy/Shop/Life stuff
03:00:  Code
04:00:  Game
05:00:  Cook/Dinner
06:00:  Game
07:30:  Code or Electronics
08:30:  Game

Its been working for the last two Saturdays, and I seem to be a bit more focused on being productive other days now as a side-effect.

I should do that for my Sundays. I have to get motivated if I'm going to prevent myself from failing C++ and Java.

Oh, scheduling up a day or two every week like that seems like a great idea. I might try that myself!

Honestly, I have tried and managed to procrastinate on doing that, most of the time. The other times (thus far) I never really followed through. Started, but didnt follow through.

I've been meaning to post in this thread, but couldn't be assed :P

Out of a job (and procrastinating finding a new one), I made a daily schedule as well:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I've been (willingly) out of a job before, and I have no idea where those 6 months went. No idea what I did in that time...

Lately? Just about damn near everything.

Same.  Can't really focus to do anything for the past two months.

Right now though, I'm procrastinating in particular with regards to studying for my computer science Ph.D qualifying exam.  I hate studying... never really been able to get into it.  And there's only an enormous amount of material this could cover...

Let's see... Finish a hangman program, code a sudoku answer checking program, find summer job, mod Skyrim, play DF. Life.

I have a lot of assignments due on Friday. Lately, I've been meaning to work on my 34.02 fortress, but I keep putting it off.
...That's right, I'm procrastinating procrastination itself. I think there should be an achievement for that.

Preparing a spreadsheet for my Chinese minions to fill in with test results.

They are very efficient and thorough; unlike me.

I put off answering this thread too !

I have a lot of projects that I never do. Learn a few languages, clean my room, go read history books, cancel my theater subscription. Instead I just spend time on the internet, drinking coffee because I'm too lazy to go outside and buy more chocolate (that's okay, coffee isn't that bad).

There are a few days where I managed to finish stuff. Usually I don't do a daily schedule, but I write down a list of things I have to do for the day, tell myself I won't play before the list is completely done, and usually guilt-trip myself to do them during the day. Usually it works. Buuut I keep putting off actually doing the list.
