The Killing Floor devs release a ton of free updates, if they have to supplement the development cost of those updates with skin packs I have no problem with it.

Case in point, the summer event has one or two new maps and a new game mode. And apparently they've released the resources to make your own Objective missions. The game is totally worth $4 and you're not missing out on anything substantive by not purchasing any DLC. I have no problem personally with cosmetic DLC, and the weapon packs seem fun but not overpowered, something for diehard fans to mix it up with.

Damn you all for making me check out the GoG sale, practically twisting my arm into buying Planescape:Torment at 50% off. I was supposed to be productive this summer!

For the record, Master of Magic was and is amazing. Despite being (very nearly) 20 years old, I STILL end up comparing fantasy 4X's to it. I couldn't really enjoy Fallen Enchantress because I kept thinking "It's alright, but it's no MoM". And it's what, 3 bucks?

Ninja'd but whatevs.

Checking out the GoG sales. Totally gonna get King of Dragon Pass, but I was curious about two other series: Might & Magic and Heroes of Might & Magic. The two are in separate bundles and I'll probably only get one. What are the differences between the two series, and which one do you prefer?

Well, M&M is a dungeon crawler and HoM&M is a turn-based strategy. If you're into the old-school style of masochistic dungeon crawlers the M&M 6-pack is an incredible deal. They're classics. I never really got into the Heroes series, but it's supposed to be very good.

I played Bound in Blood on the PS3 and was actually pleasantly surprised with the experience. It had solid gameplay and level design, and did a pretty good job of porting the Wild West setting to a FPS experience. It wasn't groundbreaking but it was fun.

Can anyone tell me if the Steam version has additional layers of DRM? I seem to recall that being an issue with Ubisoft, and after past bad experiences that has become a dealbreaker for me. Considering it's only $15, I'd definitely consider a buy if it doesn't, or at least the next time it's on sale.

Lame manuals
Seriously, nothing makes a game feel cheaper than having a no-effort manual printed on toilet paper. I'm not expecting a damn novel like the things that come with Blizzard games, but I'd like to see more than two slips of paper explaining the controls. And don't say that it costs more, because Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks had a beautiful manual while costing the same as CoD: Modern Warfare Mobilized, which had a shit manual.
I remember that one of the great joys of buying a new game was to read the manual on my way home, eager to get to try out the features outlined, or to be given an idea of the basic plot line.  Now, I open the box and all I'm likely to see is a control scheme.

Heck, I remember the good ol' NES days where not opening the manual often meant you had NO IDEA what was going on. I also have fond memories of the Baldurs Gate 2 manual, which was approximately the size of the dictionary I have on my desk.

Mind you I am someone who never liked Young Link and Cartoon Link.

Best characters in the game.

I might be the only person NOT against clones. It's not like every clone represents a lost original character 1:1, the clones are presumably much easier to implement and balance, meaning more choices overall...

But maybe I just feel that way because I don't want to lose Young Link...

They actually did a good job of adding who I wanted to see for brawl (Dedede, Pokemon Trainer, Diddy, Wolf...) but I still want Paper Mario. Final Smash: Death by a thousand papercuts. Also, a Mii Character with a Wii-Sports based moveset.

I'm surprised Train Simulator 2013 hasn't been mentioned.

Add all DLC to cart : 2501.85 USD

There's not really a whole lot more that can be said about that.

I disable motion blur in every game. Not because I get motion sick, not because my computer can't handle it, but because it's distracting and ugly. I don't care if you can simulate vaseline smeared all over my monitor, it doesn't mean you should.

Trailers that don't show any gameplay.
I'm looking at you, hilariously bad 2 minute Prototype 2 TV spot. Ads for games with no in-game footage always just look like ads for movies I would never watch. I mean, who get's excited by that kind of ad besides someone who's just going to buy the game anyway?

Dialogue "Options".
This one has been around for a while, but giving the player completely meaningless dialogue choices. For instance, E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy offers the player this gem of a choice:
1) This is a great honor, but your time is up. [Kill them all]
2) The Secreta salutes you, vermin. [Kill them all]
3) Did you really think I would become one of you? [Kill them all]
Wow, what engaging roleplay. Even when it's not explicit it's masked very poorly. If any particular piece of player input is completely meaningless, can't we just skip it altogether instead of insulting my intelligence?

Sidequestitis.
In which a game has a short core playtime padded by dozens of hours of optional sidequests. I'm sorry, but I can only take so many Riddler Challenges before I go fucking insane. Couldn't you have made the actual game more than 10 hours long instead?

I'm always so certain I'm not buying another console, and then... E3 Smash Bros Trailer. Megaman ;-;

Also, I might be the only one here really happy to see a Bayonetta 2 trailer. So much Poe's Law, they might even top the first one. EDIT: It has footswords.
