THE DANCE MAY END! Whee~~~

Turn Nine: Lateness and Dickery.

Go try and find the people with green blue and purple hair.
(...) You manage to do a one handed crawl through some of the village, leaving a trail of blood and horrified bystanders behind you. Your vision starts to darken and the ground suddenly feels incredibly soft.

Put on my game face.
(...)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Your game face is less intimidating than desired.

Sinclair: "Bring it!"

[Ambiance]

The imps immediately become very excited.

: "Oh he said yes! What an occasion!"
: "Marvelous indeed! A rarity!"
: "Oh but what game to play, what to do?"
: "Oh, I suggest a game of tag!"
: "Tag? Oh a classic, how wonderful! What say you human?"
Sinclair: "Sounds... easy enough. What do I get if I win?"
: "Oh, what indeed. What a fine reward we must give."
: "A path, a path! We'll show you a path!"
: "Or two, or three. Wouldn't you like to see?"
Sinclair: "Out of this damn forest? Yes."
: "Excellent! But we wouldn't want you to be without a chance!"
: "It's dangerous to go alone, take this!"

Without warning, one of the brothers pulls a single, absurdly long piece of grass from the ground and tosses it at your feet. You warily pick it up, slightly confused.

Sinclair: ""Um, what am I supposed to do with this?"
: "How exciting, We'll be it first!"
: "Remember, if we catch you, you lose."
Sinclair: "What happens if I lose?"
: "Five."
: "Four"
Sinclair: "Is there I time limit then? How do I win!?"
: "Three"
: "Two"
Sinclair: "Wait, what's that sound?"
: "One."

Without warning, the ground in front of the two imps erupts. A gigantic shape rises from the ground, snarling. Hunching over on two hairy white legs, a two hundred pound beast made of teeth and claws stands in front of you. It's eyes shine a malevolent red in stark contrast to it's hulking snow white body as it stares you down.
: "Go."

Seek a quest for a mighty adventurer!
Questions questions everywhere.
(...)
: "First things first, where are we?"
: You are in the great Kokiri Forest, alternatively named Lost Woods. It is in the south eastern portion of Hyrule.
: "And Hyrule is...?
: "Go find a map."
: "Why would a portal open up out of nowhere and apparently transport me to Magic Mystical Fantasy Land? Is it like a movie where I'm needed here for some important quest and then have to wave goodbye once I'm done?"
: "I do not know what a 'movie' is. As for the reason for you being here..."
: "I've been somewhat curious about that too."
: "I'm afraid that though I am one of the most knowledgeable beings in Hyrule, I do not have concrete information on why you, specifically, have been sent here. But I can say that the goddesses need your help.
: "Goddesses?"
: "Din, Farore, and Nayru. They who created Hyrule and those who dwell within it. But strange things have been happening of late, things that should not be happening."
: "Such as?"
: "There are many creatures in the forest. They are all known by me, and I safeguard the village from them. But in the past few days, I have become aware that select ones have become... twisted."
: "Twisted?"
: "Inundated with a type of magic that is wholly repulsive to me. Even the dark king's methods are of a familiar darkness. His magic exists here, for better or worse. These creatures had succumbed to something that should never have been."
: "But how do you know that these goddess needs our help? Shouldn't they be powerful enough to stop whatever it is?"
: "I do not know. By all accounts, such a thing would be cleansed immediately. It is still here, so I fear the worst."
: "Forsooth, how mayeth we aid thee with thy conundrum?"
: "You can... what?"
: "Yea, what can us humble peasantry doeth?"
: "Um."
: "Verily, we need a quest!"
: "Are you mocking me?"
: "Huzzah!"
: "Wow, you're kind of a dick."

Great walls of text! I don't feel this turn was of my best work, sadly.

Turn 10: Death'n'text.

Pass out
(...) Your vision darkens as your blood pools on the ground, and all fades to black. You bleakly wonder why you didn't actually do anything at all before you slowly stop thinking whatsoever.

Sprint away while ordering my nerves to shut up about my rib.
(...) Briefly telling biology to shut the fuck up, I got this, you sprint wildly through the forest. (...) You manage to lose the strange beast in the dense wood, but you still hear it's howling in the distance. You still have no idea where you are, and the trees prevent any meaningful look into the distance.

Prepare to start questing.
Continue to question talking sapling.
: "Enough of that, what can we do, and how do we start doing it?"
: "Hm... wait... one moment, we're about to get more company."

Suddenly, a tri-colored portal appears above your heads. From it, drops an extremely startled red clothed figure.

: "What in the blazing hells just happened?"

: "Giant fantasy world.  Big unknown evil threatening land. They need our help. I'm Gatlin, blue is Hayley, green is Saria, tree is Great Deku Tree. Who are you, red?"

: "Works for me! I'm Lala. What are we doing?"

: "Gathering information on what to actually do. We just got here maybe ten minutes ago, you're not far behind."

Hayley sidles up to Lawas and whispers: "Word of advice, don't offend the green people. I will not attempt to save you if you do."
: "Gotcha."

: "What are you whispering about?"

: "Nothing!"

: "Back on topic, where is this magic concentrated? Do you know where it's coming from?"

: "I could provide a rough guess, yes. It is emanating from somewhere within the lost woods. It's source is disruptive to my senses, so I cannot pinpoint it. I can say that it is to the north, near the fairy spring."

: "Hmm. Nobody has gone there for quite some time."

: "What? Fairy spring?"

: "A fairy spring is where groups of minor fairy spirits tend to group together. They tend to like visitors, and the more well known ones are frequent rest stops for weary adventurers. They are capable of some healing power, and occasionally one or two accompany someone they take a shining to. This fairy fountain is out of the way of any conventional path, and only sees use every couple of years, but the one near the temple is well visited."

: "Sounds useful. Do you have anything that can aid us otherwise?"

: "I'm not wandering into a forest without a weapon."

: I second the motion of not immediately dying to mutated horrors.

: "Of course, I couldn't possibly let you go unaided. HURK!"

With little warning, the fallen log from earlier shatters violently, leaving behind two weapons in the dirt.

: "Sorry, little out of practice at this. No metal weaponry, we don't have much in the ways of blacksmithing here, and the only blade was... anyway, Deku stuffs works just as well!"

Lala walks over and picks up a (...)wooden sword and hefts it experimentally. "Wooden sword? I can deal."

Gatlin  (...) swings around his new spear, before stabbing the air. "I got the spear." He flicks the hardened sap tip, the substance hard and unyielding. "It works."

: "I don't get anything?"

: "You have a quarterstaff. I felt anything else unnecessary. Is there anything else you need?"

Slow down a bit, then try to see what the piece of grass does, mainly by whacking it against trees and trying to whistle really quietly.
