Should I play X or Y?
« on: February 01, 2012, 12:06:13 pm »

I ask this question to myself daily, and I always wish I had someone else sitting there giving me some external input. So why not make that the B12 guys? If this thread is in the wrong place, feel free to let me know.

The premise of this thread is to either give someone some input on which game they should play or ask yourself. Feel free to give out as detailed of a reason as you'd like. Or not, whatever floats your boat.

Current games I am trying to decide on:

Europa Universalis 3 vs Skyrim vs World of Tanks. Go!

Skyrim, but choose a personality or restriction for your character.

Sounds like a plan! Anyone have anything they suggest as a personality/restriction? :)

You can only use spells, and of those you can only use Novice-level spells. Good luck! ;D

Amoral dunmer spellsword? Ok, maybe that's not a restriction. How about a lawful neutral orc samurai? Law above all. Thieves guild can suck it and corrupt magistrates get impaled by your long sword. For a serious character flaw, add in overwhelming racism towards bosmers. I'm talking night of broken glass levels of racial hatred. DF style.

Argonian "scale power" militant activist. Speak abusively to every Nord, Bosmer and Khajit you come across. Can't let the white man/man-cat/wood elf keep a lizard brotha' down!  :P

Alternately, an Imperial loyalist. You consider the Empire (and Cyrodil culture) to be penultimate in Tamriel, and act with disdain for "lesser peoples". Also, if you have Imperial gear available, you will use that in preference to all other similar gear (even daedric, dwemer, etc.)

When both moons are up and the aurora is in the sky, your character loses consciousness and attacks and kills anyone they come across.

The only thing that happened in general was the death of 71% of the fort, and that wasn't really worth mentioning.

As I posted in the Skyrim Thread, Fill in this Profile;

Code: [Select]
Race:
Main Weapon:
Secondary Weapon:
Main Skills (3):
Secondary Skills (5):
Main Goal:
Secondary Goal:
Taboo:

And stick to it, or have someone else make you one and play to that...

For example.

Code: [Select]
Race: Brenton
Main Weapon/s: Staff, Magic
Secondary Weapon/s: Staff, Onehanded Sword.
Main Skills (2): Destruction, One Handed Swords.
Secondary Skills (3): Light Armour, Alchemy, Enchanting.
Main Goal: Finish Collage Questline ASAP.
Secondary Goal: Build a "Library" by collecting all the books in the world (at least 1 volume of each), includes Spell Tomes.
Taboo (3): No Thieving Such as Pickpocketing and Lockpicking, Loner, No using Bow.

Bonus if you use mods such as War in Skyrim and Unlevelled World. Suddenly you will find that abusing Dumb AI isn't all that bad when you come across a Werewolf outside Riverstead. Or general Bandits, fuck why do they have to be so strong against my Mage...
