Dariush, work it a bit more. A backstory of what you did before and how Xeroth employed you. For this mission, only the best are taken in.

Rolls will work close to something like YaK, only there will be less of them.

I'm afraid of developing my backstory too far for fear of contradicting the setting you thought up. :) Could you flesh out the race descriptions a bit more please?

Thank you Lawastooshort! I owe you a spot in a future game.  ;)

Well, tell me if this works, Vagel.

Name: Elipsis Glykeria Eleni III
Species: Minoan
Class: Biotic (Or Soldier if already considered this)
Special Role: Captain
Backstory: Elipsis Glykeria Eleni is middle aged, and only a little shorter than average-her serpent-locks are usually all bone white with crimson red tips, and she prefers her skin usually matches this. She's quite rough hewn and battle scarred by her peoples usual standards, but for many this just adds to her charm, which is considerable enough already.

She grew up a Minoan of High blood, groomed from birth to take an influential position in the Hierarchy of her family...but, she found for herself when she was young, that it wouldn't nearly be enough for her. She was too aggressive, too impatient...Elipsis begin to look for something more exciting-and found, to her delight, a world of danger. It started with swoop bike racing, gambling and petty theft. It graduated to combat piloting and even a bit of smuggling and piracy, as she used her family funds to cause endless troubles for the local authorities.

When the complaints got too loud, she left everything behind. There was a big galaxy out there, anyway, and she was going to make it hers...over the years, her reputation as daredevil who gets the impossible done grew and grew-and every brush with death just motivated her to seek the bigger thrill, the bigger risk. She left trails of enemies, wary allies and scorned lovers in equal abandon-blazing a path, creating a minor legend.

Her last job was a doozy, and she didn't even get paid for it-Elipsis trashed up an entire fleet of Praelian pirates as they tried to jack a trade hub, even though it cost her ship, her crew, and almost her life. Elipsis did this for no other reason then they had chosen to attack the station as she was about to order lunch.

As she lay in the escape pod, half dead from her wounds, all she could do was think about the next job she would pull.

...

A few days later, she woke up in the med bay of a grateful local merchant station, with several dozen messages-some of them brazenly carnal, some of them very profitable, others blatant threats and traps...but the Xeroth job was on the top. She decided it was much too risky and quite possibly fatal, and all around the worst deal she could take.

But, It could be alot of fun.

Ahh, in RP form no less.  ;D

--------------------

Elipsis read the message, and laughed quietly yet musically, causing a few heads in the diner to swivel toward her-some with envy, others with hunger. She met them one by one, scanning the room, smiling as they turned away unable to meet her gaze.

Back to the message...they were giving her another ship. This would be...number seven?

She had certainly worn through them over the years. Her first vessel 'Aimagkelos' had crashed into a sun (quite a fitting end), 'Psilosgeraki' had been sheared in half by a Val orbital mine, 'Strogkylosanazititis' and 'Apktikosexerev' had both been lost to Nurvling infestations (the horror), her 'Xenosgynaika' had been eaten by an giant asteroid slug (and she hoped it gave her indigestion), and her latest vessel 'Fotiakardia' had her generator blown after killing three dozen pirate ships.

She decided to name her seventh ship just...

--> Tycheros.

Surely, that wouldn't be tempting fate, she thought with a wry grin.

((Okay, it appears we all have our profiles up. Ready when everyone else is.))

Kirloc slowly tapped the edge of her flexipad, her skin shifting slowly back and forth between a rich violet and what a human would have called royal blue, as her eyes flicked back and forth, hardly registering the text that was already commited to memory: the details of her new job, and the dossiers Xeroth had compiled on the rest of the crew. She briefly considered her own role on this mission, and mentally gathered a final layer around her resolve to carry out the contract as best as the circumstances allowed. After all, it would not do to be ungrateful to her new employers.

Turn 1- New ship, new crew, new employer:

Hildamesh Gregorium

You were having some gin and tonic in the Skytasia lounge in New Paris, a metropolitan world in the Europa cluster. You were contacted the day before by a gentleman claiming to work for Xeroth and telling you that he has a very lucrative offer for you. You took a glance at the clock, it was about to hit 19:45. Just as the indicator hit three quarters past seven you were approached by a man in a nice white suit.

"Miss Gregorium I presume? Splendid, may I take a seat?"

The man didn't wait for your approval but immediately took a seat. He procured a small instrument fro his breast pocked, a fingerprint scanner, it takes your fingerprint as well as your DNA and is commonly used to sign contracts.

"By coming here I take it that you agreed to our terms and have taken the job?"

He hooked up his flexipad to the scanner while talking to you and you gave him the fingerprint as soon as you got the signal. He quickly whipped the flexipad around, made sure that everything is as it has to be and asked you to follow him. He took you to the docking bay where there was a light traverser waiting for you, small ships used for exceedingly fast travel across the galaxy.

"Enjoy the trip, miss!"

A few days later you arrivad at your destination, a gigantic space station orbiting dieing star, the energy coming from the star was able to even hide this thing from radars. The ship docked to the station and you were led to a meeting room. Even through your short trip through the station you were able to see that there was top of the line security here.

Spoiler: Hildamesh Gregorium (click to show/hide)

Kirloc Mael

Having spent the last 3 T-years on a frozen rock in a place where nobody ever comes and the sun never shines, getting a job offering seemed slightly weird. You were first contacted by a Val in the showers while she passed by, telling you that you have captured Armand's eye. She told you that you impressed certain people in Xeroth and that soon you will get a job offering. That offering would erase your criminal past and make the remaining 84 years go away. A few days later you were approached by the same Val, asking if you accept the agreement. Upon agreeing she told you that you will be picked up in two days, at precisely 12 o'clock noon. It went as promised, after two days you were approached by Val guards and ordered to go to outprocessing. There they removed the headbrace that is used to dull the minds of biotics to make them less dangerous. After the headbrace was removed you could feel the world open up around you and the sweet tingling of biotical abilities awakened once more. Following that you were escorted by two guards to the docking bay where a well-dressed Minolian was waiting for you, surrounded by four guards. She smiled as she saw you and beckoned you forward.

"Miss Mael? I am Alary Moran amd I have come to pick you up. Please sign this and follow me."

You took position at her heels and the four guards now expanded their circle protecting the both of you. She lead you to a frigate waiting to launch at any time.A few days later you were led to a meeting room in a space station.

Spoiler: Kirloc Mael (click to show/hide)

Dariush Shass-Ra

For years you had worked for the mercenary group, Eclipse. Since now you didn't know that it was actually an organization owned by Xeroth's military cell. You proved to be a very valuable soldier and almost undefeatable in battle. For the last few years he had taken suicide mission after suicide mission, always completing the objective. This gave him the reputation of a man who could get anything done and most certainly had captured the interest of a few powerful people. He was approached by the commandor of Eclipse one day in the "gentlemen's" club in thelower floors of Ilcium, a space station built halfway inside a meteor. He offered you a very high paying job, but under an operative of Xeroth. He didn't know what the task was, but he said that it was the highest paying job for an individual that he had ever seen. You signed the contract and were taken to a space station orbiting a sun.

Spoiler: Dariush Shass-Ra (click to show/hide)

Ciaphas Cain

You carefully opened your eyes, the whole world a blur, you were not dead though, unless heaven is white and has lights on the ceiling. The memory of the attack is vividly etched into your mind. The attack had all happened in a blink of an eye. One second everything was peaceful, no signs of anything bad happening and then it happened, explosions, smoke, the person next to you was shot, but you were lucky enough to dive for the counter before being shot. You carefully took a peak from behind the counter and you saw them, men completely suited in armour with assault rifles and shotguns. They moved like pros who had been planning this attack for a while, they moved like robots controlled by an AI, leaving no weak spots. The rest is all a blur but you can vividly remember that concussion round to your head. Now you were god knows where and by the looks of it, tied up.

"I see that you have awaken, Mr. Cain."

You heard a female voice. You raised your head and could see a gorgeous Minolian sitting across the room, leg over knee and a glass in her hand. She looked like she was old, even for a Minolian, but she was still beautiful.

"Don't try to speak, Mr. Cain, you just suffered a severe trauma. WHat you did there was impressive and we could use you. Now, the choice is this, you work for us, or you die. if you agree to work for us, press the button at your left side."

You pressed the button.

Spoiler: Ciaphas Cain (click to show/hide)

Sarn Bloodedtooth

Those mercs were easy, they hardly put up a fight against you, you have definetly had harder fights. You were just going to walk away when you were adressed by you last name, sounded like a woman. Turning around you saw her, a tall, white Minolian with clothes that were too fancy for this place. Just then you felt like you were hit by something and you were just able to take a glance at it when you felt it work, it gave you ana electric shock, disabling all of your systems, you were standing there paralyzed.

"Mr. Bloodedtooth, what you did here was impressive."

She was speaking like she was getting a massage in some fancy parlour, you couln't hera any anxiety at all.

"We are also familiar with your past, you are a very impressive fighter, one could even call you heroic. So we have decided to offer you to work for us. The pay would be the best and we would spare your life."

She did something on her flexipad and your face armour opened up, revealing your face.

Now, blink once if you won't take the job and twice if you will take it."

You blinked once...and twice. She smiled.

"Welcome to the crew, Mr Bloodedtooth!

She smiled one last time before she gave you a shock that knocked you uncouncious.

Spoiler: Sarn Bloodedtooth (click to show/hide)

Elipsis Glykeria Eleni III

Sitting the mess hall you thought over the last few days. You made the lives of some pirates into hell, killed your entire crew and crashed the ship. You really should stop doing this, there are easier ways to be a merchant. You were just about to open your flexipad when some guy came towards you, looked like a manual laborer, probably loading goods or something like that and with a smile and glee in his eyes he approached you.

"Hey honey, how would you like me to make this the best day of your life?

Rolling your eyes you sent him away, like all the other guys before him. Jerks! You shifted your attention back to the flexipad and saw multiple job offerings in your inbox, one stood out from the others, it was from Xeroth. You sent a reply to it, saying that you accept and you couln't even put it back on the table before you got a reply. The reply told you to go talk to Little Metal, a Val who works as a merchant and is currently docked in Duckun, the same station that you are on, you have to tell him that Cumbar sent you. You were slightly taken aback by such a quick reply and so direct instructions. Finishing your meal you head to the docking bay and there found a short Val, just one meters and fifty centimeters tall, unbelievably short for a Val. His right hand was replaced with a cybernetic one and half of his head looked like it was taken from a drone. You approached him and could only say hi when he blurted out that he has no work for you and that you definetly can't get a ride. You decided to try one more time and this time he turned towards you, taking a good look at you he seemed to have changed his mind.

"Hmm, I think that I can find a job for you, how would you like to travel with me in my cabin?"

He had nerve, but the obvious rudeness ignited the little spark inside you. You calmed yourself and told him that Cumbar had sent you. He quickly apologized and now seemed to treat you like an old friend. He told you to come with him to his ship as they were about to leave. You followed him to the ship, it looked like a total dump inside, worse off than most merchant vessels, but it was big. He led you onwards till you reached a large automated door with guards on both sides. Little Metal entered a code to a holopanel and the door opened, revealing a command station that looked like ti would belong into a battleship, not a merchant vessel. Little Metal gace the order to undock and take course for station 8.

When you were out of the trade hub radar range he ordered to go into light travel level 5 and to enable the RCD, he was like an admiral. You were suprised at this because merchant vessels couldn't go faster than LTL 2. Upon mentioning this he simply answered you.

"My dear, this is a Xeroth vessel. Nothing is ever as it seems with Xeroth."

Meeting room in station 8

You were all sitting around a maple wood table in a white meeting hall with an excellent view on space. There was a high ranking Xeroth officer in the room. The meeting was supposed to start at twelve o'clock, it was a mere minute to go. As soon as it hit the officer turned on a holopanel on the table which formed a graph. It strated speaking in which sounded like a thousand voices mixed together. It identified itself Armand.

"Good day ladies and gentlemen! I see that you have accepted the mission, very well. Lately there has been a breakthrough in the weapon industry, smart killer nanobots. there will be war over it and I would like to obtain it and erase all records of it. It is located in a top-secret station in the Pegasus cluster. The coordinates will be sent to the ship. Miss Elipsis is in command of the ship, which I give over to her and Miss Mael will monitor the mission in the interests of Xeroth. Go to the station and retrieve the nanobots. God speed!"

With that the holopanel was shut off and the meeting was closed.

Elipsis looked over her new crew. Smiled. Her 'serpent-locks' (the popular name in some circles for the tentacles on a Minolians head) quivered a bit in anticipation.

Yes. This was going to be interesting...she wondered how many of them would try to jump ship first...

She formed her resting hands into a pyramidal shape, and addressed them all in the practiced tone of an orator. Her eyes and body turned to each person in turn, reading their reactions.

"Ahh, I'd prefer Captain Glykeria, as the way you should all address me. An honorific and no more-on my ship, we leave salutes and standing at attention for port visits.

I feel we should get to know each other. Who would like to go first?"
