So, what exactly is At the Edge of Space? Well, it is a game that naturally takes place in space. You will form a crew who is in charge of a frigate. The game will have a main questline, but I will also offer you side quests, which the captain(leader of the crew and ship) can then choose to either accept or not. However, if you ignore the main questline for too long, the game will get more difficult and resources will get scarcer. You will start the game as an independent contractor working for Xeroth, a political organization with nearly unlimited resources and a shady reputation. As the game is dynamic on what you would like to do you could also be a pirate, a mercenary or even work for the galactic government. But remember, every action will have consequences.
It is the year 2275 and space is as wild as ever. Tensions between species, governments and organizations are on the rise. Lukcily for you, Xeroth, an organization with quite a shady reputation, has decided to put together a team of specialists to insure that they come out on top. You are all individuals with special talent and were handpicked by the leader of Xeroth, known only as Armand. God speed!
Rolls will be done by rolling 1d60 dice in which stats and skills give either bonuses or penalties. A stat level of 5 is the "neutral" level. Anything higher or lower would give you either bonuses or penalties. The species stat levels are basic levels which will have class stats added to them. All Minolians are biotics, while not every human is a biotic. The regenerative ability can be used once a turn, but you can't do anything else during that turn. Written on the class sheet is the amount of stat levels that they will add.
Special Roles:
These are the roles that have more actions than normal players. Currently there are two, but as the game progresses, there will be more available.
The man in control of the ship and crew. Will ultimately decide on what to, can choose quests and will control the ship and which side you are on. You must be careful however, as players likely won't take too well on having a tyrann of a captain.
The agreement with Xeroth dictated that they would have a representative to report to them and make sure that everything goes as planned by Xeroth. Is the only person to have access to top-secret Xeroth data. Can be the captain's biggest help, or the worst enemy. The original and primary objective of this person is to make sure that things are done Xeroth's way.
Species:
Humans don't really excell at anything specific. However, they are one of the two species that can create biotics, but they aren't natural biotics. To be a human biotic requires extensive use of implantations, gene therapy and a dangerous training regime. Over 70% of enrollers in the Biotic Training Program(BTP) never become biotics.

A tall, lightly scaled, hairless humanoid species with slight reptilian features. They have three long fingers and toes that have short claws. They have a military society and everybody is firstly a soldier. When a Val becomes of age, which is 50 years old in human years(they live for centuries), he/she has the choice to scar his/her face with tribal markings. Though the Val have an empire, they were till recently tribes that held entire planets as their domains. As the species that is the most efficient in large-scale warfare, they naturally make up for over half of The Intergalactic Union's security and military forces. Honour to them comes second to them after their duty as soldiers. They are currently fighting against unified tribes of Paerlians to the east of their system and are expanding further to the Pegasus cluster, a recently discovered cluster north to them.

The Minolians are a short, all female race with slighty snake like faces. The part of their head that is supposed to have hair is instead covered with short tentacles that they can control. Out of all the galactic species they are probably the ones closest to the humans by looks and no doubt the most beautiful. They live for over a thousand years and can change the colour of their skin at will. As masters of diplomacy they lack an unified government, but instead have five republics that form The Milonian Alliance. Considering their long lasting life, they often form plans that cover centuries, if not a millenia. Thusly they enjoy shaping the life of an entire species and do that while staying behind covers, this is the reason why many primitive species worship them as gods. They are also the species who introduced the humans to the TIU and ultimately responsible for the humans becoming a council race. They are the only natural biotics and are masters of covert ops. They will gladly stay away from war, preferring to solve problems diplomatically or with the use of operatives.

The Praelians are medium height, very bulky and fur covered species. They are natural warriors, their bodies are built to take a beating like no other species, the regenerative property of their bodies can't be matched by anything else and thus they are of great interest to genetical engineers. Although they are a long-lived species most don't live longer than 200 years. They seem to have the necessity to fight and are very good at that, but they lack the organization to become anything more than tribes or hired guns. Everything in their organization is gained by fighting your opponent in a duel to the death. Nobody really knows their origin and it is doubted if they themselves even know it. WHat is known, is that they are slowly becoming extinct as the heavy wars are killing too many of them.

These are the heavies, they are ment to hold the frontline and advance it. This is done with severe cybernetics and the strongest armour around. They wield the big guns. Because of their extensive cybernetic "upgrades" they have a penalty whenever they interact with anybody else. They can't be healed on the field, they either need to be taken to the medbay in the ship or to an advanced hospital. An EMP blast will temporarily disable them and their shields
