Can we for once have something involving ponies that doesn't steer into that direction?

I'm fairly sure this will stay on the violence thing.

(Hey, it can be very odd when it turns out the person you're doing it with is actually a random stranger you accidentally abducted and dragged to your house. Not from personal experience, but I can imagine it would be embarrasing.)

Chapter 40: Mo' Money Mo' Navy

Day 17: Captain's Log:

~I must say that the H.O.E.S. were not at all the type of elite squad unit that you would expect at the high levels of dignity that their rank bestows. For example, today I noted various things.

Rainbow Dash is often with that other orange pegasus. Spitfire I believe? I've seen amiability between my own soldiers, but they seem uncannily close. Is that the right word? Regardless,  I don't know what they're up to in her quarters exactly, but it is loud enough to keep me up at night...

Meanwhile, Theodore Roosevelt is off trying to teach my crew the finer points of fireworks, hunting, beer and good pies; he seems to be oblivious to that fact that all of his subjects are well known in England, but he's so passionate that they let him go off on his tirades.

Gordon Freeman 2.0 is a quiet gentleman, but I wonder if that number in his name suggests that he is robotic, which would explain a lot. He spends a lot of his day messing around on what he calls the 'Console', a forearm-computer device which allows him to do all sorts of interesting things. He's tried calling for reinforcements but to no avail, but he has found the text-to-speech device which allows him to communicate with everyone on board.

Speaking of robots, we received what I thought was an AI-controlled humanoid. However, I learned it actually has a brain and is in fact semi-organic within it's giant suit of armor. It is a Big Daddy machine, it's particular model being called Delta. It simply stands motionless in the middle of the deck, and when asked about anything, it replies that it is simply guarding the ship.

Merasmus and the Pastamancer are the wizards of the party. Magic users, including unicorns, have always seemed to have eccentric tendencies, and these two are no exception. Whatever, they are soldiers on this mission also, I just hope their chants manage to strike Cortez's ship and not my own...

So far I haven't minded the antics of the H.O.E.S., except for Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Daniel Wintle, who barged into my deskroom and demanded I show him my capabilities as a captain or I would be forced to step down. I was able to stop this by asking him about what the abilities and responsibilities of a good admiral. I then shoved him into a closet, but he did not resist, and only went on a speech lasting for several hours.

Cyan Garamonde is the first Samurai I have seen in flesh and blood. Interestingly enough he wanted a source for incendiary arrows, so we were happy to give him some of our excess Lamp Oil.

I must admit in this secrecy that I do hold some fear of The Hispaniola. The Lunar army's airplanes, submarines and missiles have all been deflected or destroyed by that beast of a ship.

However the cheerful demeanor of us all has made me a bit less anxious, especially the sweet mares. One night, we heard a rumbling noise out on the deck. We rushed out to see what was going on and found Applejack bucking the main mast. When questioned, she responded that the mast seemed as strong as an apple tree. I could never truly understand the rural ponies, but oh well, she's fine. Along with Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy who are both quite attractive in their own, opposite, ways. If only I was a younger colt and not an old sea dog...

This is Captain Admiral Waverider, signing off.~
[/i]

Just as soon as Waverider finishes his log entry, one of the crew members bust in. "The El Hispaniola has been sighted sir!" Waverider jumps up and gallops quick to the center deck. "Target spotted! Mobilize!" There is a sudden explosion of movement as the crew and H.O.E.S. move to their respective positions. Spitfire attempts shaking Rainbow awake, as usual. Masts are mounted, guns are loaded. "There she is captain, broadside!" Sure enough, off in the distance, a behemoth of a ship can be seen. "She's too far to hit right now boys, save your shots until I say so! Through my spyglass, it looks like Cortez's bodyguard consists of:

The Hispaniola
- Created in the same fashion as an old Conquistador Ship, with several modern upgrades.
Sailors: 250
Guards: 500
Gunners: 130
Cannons: 65
- Numbers do not include Cortes's personal bodyguard.

Conquistador #1: Out to conquer the new world with Cortez.
Items: Espada-Ropera Sword, Conquistador Armor Set
Health: Fine

Conquistador #2: Is on the trip to convert the natives to Catholicism.
Items: Alabarda Halberd, Conquistador Armor Set
Health: Fine

Conquistador #3: Just here for the money.
Items: Hacha Axe, Conquistador Armor Set
Health: Fine

Ballestero: Like the last crossbowman, but more Spanish.
Ballesta takes 1 turn to load. +1 when fired.

Artillero: Hey look, guns!
Items: Mosquete Musket
Health: Fine

Músculo: A big bruiser rippling with muscles.
Items: Pants
Health: Fine

Bucanero: Apparently, there's also Spanish pirates.
Items: Espada Embarque Sword, Trabuco Naranjero Blunderbuss
Fine

Amante: She's as beautiful as she is deadly.
Items: Whip, Throwing Knives, Battles Dress
Health: Fine

Músico: Listen to those sexy-ass melodies.
Can inspire teammates and distract enemies.
Items: Spanish Trumpet, Spanish Guitar
Health: Fine

And on the top of the central mast of the ship:

"GOOOOLLLLLLLLLDDDDDD!"

Hernando Cortez
Health: Fine
Mood: Stop those ponies! I need my gold!

((Can I get the equipment put in please?))
"The adventure begins."
Pastamancer summons his Mortar Shell, then fires upon the hull of the Hispanola.

"Whu- whazzat? Fighting? Oh yeah!"

Get topside, fly far up above the ships, and form a massive stormcloud. Say, large enough that it would be more effective if used in an attack.
