Chapter 53: That Old Voodoo

An army of the Sons of Samedi marches onto the city, dispersing and firing into the crowd and buildings with guns and explosives. However, the H.O.E.S. step in to intervene!

"Sorry, I need this! If it's any consolation, it's helping me defend the city!" Simon yells out his apology as he quickly fuses Lagann with a jet, turning it into a big flying Mecha! The airport security does not notice, as they are distracted by the immediate takeover of the city by the Samedi.

Roland Deschain runs down a back alley out of the pub, jumping into the middle of the street and yelling to rally the populace of Kingston. (6) Quickly in response, a group of armor-plated and heavily armed policemen jump out of a truck and storm the city. As a group of Samedi swerve the corner and charge into the streets, casually dressed and armed with rudimentary weapons, the policemen cut them all down under a storm of bullets and tactical items.
Elite Kingston S.W.A.T. Team has joined the Battle!

The Pastmancer brushes his way past the screaming crowd on the beach. Looking for a tall structure, he looks at the bar with a flat roof selling beverages and food on the pier. He scales the pier and climbs up on the bar's ladder, reaching the roof. Once there, he casts a spell and summons his Cannelloni Cannon. Afterwards, he judges his distance from the main point of fighting. It looks like from here he can get good shots off, provided he doesn't miscalculate and accidentally hit the top of sides of one of the taller buildings in the city.

Twilight Sparkle sees opportunity all around in the museum. She casts a spell, "Animadiocus!" (5) Her magic flows into the exhibits around her. Suddenly, a group of dinosaurs and ancient warriors surround her, ready to take up the fight!
Ancient Warriors & Dinosaurs have joined the battle!

"Well so much for our little vacation eh Big Mac?  Why don't we show these Sons of Sam how the Apple Family fights!" Applejack calls out to her big brother from the vantage point of the roof of an apartment building. She equips one of The Boss's Fragmentation Grenades, bouncing it in her hands, ready to strike down on the first group of gangbangers she sees.

''Sounds like a good idea ta me." Big Macintosh summons Braeburn. "So, what do you need Big Mac?" asks the stallion who appears out of nowhere. Mac turns to his cousin and discusses the ambush strategy...

"Yeesh, these people sure are dirty-minded. I might fix that. Wait, what's this? Heretics, believing in a God that isn't myself?! I'll show them divine intervention!"" Dagoth Ur closes his eyes and channels a flow of powerful physic energy. It weaves through the city until it finds it's perfect target: Silverfeet. It launches down on the Son of Samedi, going straight for his mind. (5 vs. 2) Silverfeet grabs at his head and screams, but Dagoth easily grips control of him. He falls to the ground and goes limp, before rising under control of a new master.
The possessed Silverfeet runs back through the streets, to the confusion of the soldiers around him. Soon, he finds the Cyborg Warrior and charges straight at him. (2 vs. 4) Silverfeet draws his Automatic Pistol and fires at the cyborg, though hitting him ineffectively in his hard, metallic right side. Cyborg Warrior does not know what's come over his mutinous comrade, but knows he needs to be stopped. (1+1 vs. 2) The cyborg swings at Silverfeet, but the nimble commander rolls out of the way as the cyborg's fist smashes into a car, denting it's engine. Silver grips his Machete and attempts to turn Cyborg Warrior into robot spaghetti. (1 vs. 1-1) The Cyborg Warrior stands there as an easy target, as Silverfeet taps him on his robotic shoulder with his Machete. This does not amuse the Cyborg Warrior. (5+1 vs. 3) Cyborg grabs Silverfeet by his shirt and throws him into a brick wall. Silverfeet slams into the wall and slumps down, the impact was so powerful it caused Dagoth Ur to lose his psychic grip on Silverfeet. Cyborg Warrior shrugs and walks away.

But the Cyborg Warrior is not done for today. As he walks through the streets, he stops as he sees Samedi soldiers drop like flies around them from bullets. He can't see the shooter, until he glances up at a skyscraper to see Rainbow Dash sniping them with Colonel Lieutenant Daniel Wintle's Lee Enfield Rifle! Woo, typing that is a handful! (3 vs. 1-1) As he stands there, pondering why a rainbow colored Pegasus is shooting at him with a WWII-era rifle, he feels a bullet slash straight through his not metal leg.

Old Spice Guy is riding around in his magical motorcycle, when he sees Silverfeet struggling to stand, and also coughing up blood. "Let's see what we have here. You: You're coughing up blood, quite likely as the result of being slammed into a wall by a large cyborg. Me: Riding around on my dazzling magical motorcycle. The difference? I use Old Spice (TM). Anything is possible with Old Spice. I'm riding on a lion." Isaiah tosses a can of deodorant at Silverfeet from his seat on his lion. Silverfeet grabs the Old Spice, sniffs it, (6 vs. 5-1) and applies it to his stank armpits. He then combusts into fire. He screams and jumps into a puddle of water. But because of the magic of Old Spice, the puddle was actually the entrance to a hole with a 500 ft. drop, which Silverfeet falls into. Guess he wasn't manly enough for Old Spice.

Al Capone stays in the shadows of the underworld, gripping his gun tightly, waiting for someone to come around the corner. (But nobody does XP)

Mark Gabby sees Simon fly over him with in his Lagann-Jet. "Hey, you guys take cover, I'mma handle this!" Mark's troops disperse as he lifts his AK up and fires at the mecha. (3 vs. 2) The powerful and penetrating high-caliber bullets pierce Lagann's armor.

The Autonomous Mobile Turret crawls down the streets of Kingston. It keeps crawling until it is met with the sight of the Elite Kingston SWAT Team disposing of the Samedi soldiers. The intelligent machine, however, uses it's stealth to avoid the firefighting by scaling unseen on the nearby buildings. On the side of one building, the turret locks onto Roland Deschain, seeing the heavily armed and deadly looking man as a threat that needs to be neutralized. Without him seeing it, the turret aims it's Machine Gun directly at him. (2 vs. 1) The spinning Gatling-gun-like weapon fires upon Roland, and finely notices it when a flurry of bullets fire on the area around him. One even gets him on the shoulder, but it's merely a flesh wound. Before he can take more hits, Roland dives behind a car that deflects the machine gun fire until the Turret stops spinning temporarily.

Cyborg Warrior lets out a pained, gritted-teeth roar as he feels the bullet shred into his leg. He turns his head to look up at Rainbow Dash. The cocky pegasus sticks her tongue out. Cyborg Warrior is not a very amused cyborg man. (See A Few Paragraphs Above for Referencing) The Cyborg picks up a nearby car, hoisting it over his head with the strength of 83 midgets. Grunting, his metallic arm chucks the metal vehicle at Dashie Dash. (3+1 vs. 6) He did not manage to take Dashie's agility into account, as she spreads her wings and zooms out of the way of the car as it slams onto the top of the building. R.D. zooms around a few times before doing a somersault in transition to pointing her rifle back at the cyborg. (6 vs. 1) A second bullet hits the cyborg in his chest, though it hits him in his metallic side. The bullet is so powerful enough it breaks the link between the two parts of his body. The Cyborg, unaware of this fact, takes a step forward. However, his moves are not coordinated between his halves, and his two parts rip away from each other, as his split down the middle. Both parts of him simply fall flat into a pool of blood and oil.

Alisha Deathrow and her soldiers barge into the Museum of Natural Science. The soldiers break down the doors and charge, but are surprised to find a horde of Ancient Warriors & Dinosaurs awaiting them. However, the fearless Alisha is not intimidated. "Come on, fire!" She fires one of her sub-machine guns into the opposition, and her soldiers follow suit. (6 vs. 2) Twilight Sparkle seemed to have forgotten something about ancient people and creatures: they don't know what guns are. As so in effect, the group of them charges the gangsters, only to be completely cut down as warrior and dinosaur alike has their chests, limbs and heads riddled with bullets until all of them fall. Alisha tells her soldiers to hold fire and advance, when she notices Twilight. "Hey, it's that unicorn!" (5 vs. 4) Twilight flees upstairs into the museum from the flurry of Alisha's gunfire, but in doing so takes a shot to the side of her left flank.

Eagle-Eyes sits still, perched a-top a skyscraper, loading his cartridge into his Dragunov. After the loading is completely, he looks into the scope and peers for targets across Kingston.

Trailblazer runs into The Old Spice Guy. Gripping onto his Machete, the Son of Samedi roars and charges the lion-riding lady magnet. (2 vs. 5) However, he is halted when the Old Spice lion lunges out and bites him in his pant leg, tripping him. (4 vs. 1) "A man like's you can only be cured by the power of magnificent Old Spice (TM)!" Isiah leaps over the man and sprays Old Spice (TM) directly down his throat. This makes the Trailblazer forget about the lion, and think more about suffocating to death via heavy doses of powerful deodorant.

Veteran Child and Mr. Sunshine escort their armies down the streets of Kingston, only for an orange stallion to confront them. "~Hey everybody, I'm not familiar with city places like this and was wonderin' if I could get a look around?~" (5) The Sons of Samedi feel compelled to show this newcomer around, because he was totally attracting them in a completely platonic and heterosexual way and absolutely nothing else. "Surprise boys!" Applejack tosses one of the grenades onto the soldiers as they are distracted. (6+1 vs. 2) The grenade turns into a Hollywood-esque explosion that sends dozens of the soldiers flying into the air and more cut down by the huge amount of shrapnel. Among the killed are Veteran Child, screaming and pulling on the trigger as shrapnel cuts into his chest and neck, and he falls forward gripping the trigger of his Heavy Machine Gun, which blindly fires into the Samedi that are still standing.

Even Mr. Sunshine is hit by flying shrapnel, giving him lacerations all over his body. As he sees everyone around him die slowly and painfully, he grips his Cursed Machete and walks towards Braeburn menacingly. "~Hey! I never hurt anyone!~" He smiles meekly, but this quickly disappears as Sunshine raises his giant sword. What Sunshine does not see coming is Big Macintosh running out of the alley and sending a flying buck-kick into his back. (4+1 vs. 5) His spine cracks and Mr. is sent crashing into a wall, face-first. The Apple family cheers, but stops immediately as they see their enemy get to his feet, with all apparent wounds on him gone. "I am a Voodoo Wizard, you think you little ponies will be able to take down a true Son of Samedi?!"

The General's Limousine cruises around Kingston, each window coming with a rifle or RPG sticking out of it, the leader himself sitting back, a fat piece of skunk in his mouth. One of the guards calls out, "General, I see a man loading some sort of missile on the pier, and he's not one of us!" The boss waves his hand casually at the direction of the pier. "Well then dispose of him."
The Pastamancer is figuring out a good shot with his cannon, when he looks up and sees a barrage of bullets and rockets heading straight at the pier. (4 vs. 5) The Pastamancer fires a shot off before he jumps off of the roof into the ocean. The bar and his cannon are destroyed by several rockets, and the whole pier catches on fire, but he is safe. And while his weapon was destroyed, it at least got one shot off at the limousine convoy. (4 vs. 6) The pasta bomb lands on the street near the car, but not close enough to damage it.

The General
Health: Smokin'
Mood: Damn it feels good to be a gangster. And high. And blowing up beaches.

"Cover me," Roland says to the swat team as he dashes out from behind the car and under the turret, sliding behind it to take shots at its legs.

Twilight peeks out from behind cover and yells "I'll show you the power of the Element of Magic!"

She then makes a small whirlwind that picks up every sharp/large and blunt object in the muesuem. It gets bigger and faster until if forms in to a Shrapnel Storm.

Dagoth Ur will take control of Eagle-Eyes and make him shoot Mr. Sunshine in the back of the head. If this works, have him not resist RD's murderous advance as well.

Rainbow Dash slings the Lee Enfield, grinning cheekily, "Who says you need hands to cap a... half-machine monkey. Thing. That did not end as expected."

Fly around the city, searching for a target [Eagle-Eyes]. When found, sneak up on him and attempt to push him off of his skyscraper with the sharp end of a old friend/overhyped Japanese sword.

Isaiah shakes his head sorrowfully. Few men are as manly as me, but that was a sorrowful non-man. He then tries to talk to Trailblazer about the importance of old spice, but notices that, the can still not speak. Instead, he leaves him some tickets to the explosion he wanted to see.
