I would suggest to Shades to slow down. It'll take more time, but will diminish his thermal rating in case something is out there.

Damn. I think we have no choice but creating more military ships then.

Well, look at it this way:
At least Haan Industries will still be making money ;D
Assuming you are willing to put time and resources into new mil spec component designs and other tech.

Need opinion:
Currently have shipyard ops 20% time/cost savings being researched. it is 8640 annual rp with 5382.6 to go, 20 labs (max), est completion date 25 feb '38.
SHould earth finish that up? Or designate the labs to newly important pursuits... like sensors.

Well, it's still a blow to my "all-civilian" strategy.

Wait, we do have some missiles patents, right? What are we researching ATM?

(accidentally modified last post after you posted)

HI is researching a nuclear pulse missile drive, at the moment. It was Government request and pretty quick and simple.
Since Pelland has gotten a lot of missile tech done, gov't wanted you to use your power/prop people to help with the missile drive. You will not own that tech though. Government will, and will likely license it out to Pelland to make the missiles  :-\

So I got screwed?

Well, we should definitely build missiles. Lots and lots of missiles.

Oh holy crap, first contact.

I'm guessing we want to salvage that ship. At the very least, there are a lot of tons on it, and I'm guessing it can be reverse engineered? Because that would be awesome.

Of course, if Goron things its a bad idea, like, on the level of causing a genocide bad, he can veto my decision to check shit out (really, that's my only job). Someone will prolly have to talk some sense into me in that case.

Do you want a person?

If you have a nice unclaimed Xenology officer (let's pretend it includes a dose of Xenobiology), sure. Named Raphael Knight.

Shipyard Operations doesn't seem terribly important right now. With an unknown wreck next door, and a big one at that, we'll want military designs, just to be sure. Salvaging it is an idea, but if we have a fast/expendable ship, we could first scout out if something's still there.

You'll get your chance Chaoticag, your ship just is not the ideal tool, right now.
It is one of only two existing jump ships, to lose one would be bad. Fleet Headquarters wants you back at earth asap.
Perhaps Haan Industries can whip up a design of a scout type ship. Something with a bit better sensors and either speed or stealth. That is the sort of thing you'd want to investigate the wreck in. No to mention we have no salvage tech, yet.

I'll find a good xeno expert for ya, knight.
