That was because of TW that we didn't handle Roy right, we can do better, sure maybe under threat of death/infection they won't obey an evil person, but threat of banshee leaving them trapped in their own bodies? They should fall in line, may need to prove the banshee's power though, and maybe show what Diane can do to a person, none of the essential people of course.
Honestly, I don't think outright violence into coercion is the best way to go about things. Threats sure, but killing people as examples just weakens your word to not kill them.

Fair enough, keep it at threat level, maybe at worse we have her make an example of one of our disposable zombies.

We really should avoid killing, as afterall we need breeding stock for the future.

It's not even that, it's just that killing people isn't conducive to getting cooperation.

Cattle would be easier to breed and care for for food purposes imo, once our people are smarter, and produce milk for cheese ect (sure humans do too, kinda squicky though).
Also they don't rebel and don't make the more moral amongst us suggest we give rights that food doesn't deserve.

But sure human stock incase we run low on zombies (bound to have enough accidents during the rest of forever to require replacements eventually). Plus we need a few pregger zombies to try producing worms.

But Zero wouldn't eat the meat in the butcher's before. No idea why, but it might be because it was non-human.

Also, I feel like I should clarify, the lower your hunger is, the more you crave the flesh of living as opposed to dead meat. Also, people food is better the animal food.
Here a quote is that I think explains why, as long as we remain feed it would be fine, but yes a human stock should be kept as a reserve.

Ah, that explains it.

We still need to breed humans for future zombie production.

we should have mentioned that we needed to breed humans as an emergency food source when we were at the radio place I'm sure we would have gotten plenty of volunteers.

How about we just never mention anything?

I say we keep the humans alive - keep the horde in some, like, swimming pool or leisure area, and use the ship's intercom to inform everyone we won't kill them(yet). If we get hungry, just ask someone out to have a 'talk' in private with us.

What we need is some cultists, people who are crazy enough to want to become zombies. People who would follow us around, do anything to please us and even fight with each other for the privilege of being a zombie.

Imagine this, a vision of the future: a society where zombies are the social elite and humans serve them and look upon them as gods, craving to one day become like them, to possess their strength and immortality. A herd of humans that wants to work for us, that wants to be slaughtered in the name of our empire, just for the promise that they may become like us. Now, wouldn't that be easier and more fun?
Granted, it's a bit harder to set up, but we need to lay the foundation sometime. Get some idiots to start believing we're a rebel or visionary or a god or a demon or an alien or something that's working for the ascension of the select few and that they can be one of those select few if they follow us around and obey us. I'm sure they won't be hard to find, it's not like the Earth has a shortage of crazy people.

Na, that's old. Just spin a story of how we prepared this for centuries, dating back to the black plague. Tell them that at some point everyone's greatgrandsomeone was infected with the black plague, and that was the very first breed of the zombie virus. All it takes for us is to activate some kind of buttan on our coccyx or something. Tell them how we had the power to do that in all these years but we didn't, seeing how humanity has improved since and tell them that we're only taking them to the next level.
