I can see?

Why doesn't it hurt anymore...

I open my eyes. I meet the pleasurable sight of Zero looking at me, though he still looks extremely concerned about something. I still feel crappy, but better then before.
Sure am hungry though. Really hungry. And it feels like something is pounding against my skull, not to mention that I'm REALLY HUNGRY.
Anybody got something to eat? Please.
Zero sighs in relief, but Tw looks wary. She seems to be doing something with her arms. Then you get a disembodied arm to the face.
Eat up, this transition takes it out of you.
Transition?

Oh, no, did they do the wormy thing? Ew...
He tried to change ME? I'll kill him! He'll be my bitch for thi-Please shut up.
NO! I'M NOT TURNING IN HIS FUCKING SERVANT, I'LL KILL HIM FIRST!
Shit, she's taking ov-*

You wake up again with a stinging jaw, and Zero standing over you. You chow down on that arm you got earlier, seemingly oblivious to the fact that you seem to be in a different position then a while ago. Then it sinks in.
Did I attack you?
Whiles't screaming about how you'll make a bicycle out of my flesh.
Minor insanity is something to take note about, though I doubt it's because of the worm.
...You actually did that worm thing on me? To save my life?
He did, at my suggestion. If you feel strongly about it, we have dead meat-bags here, cut those.
That really sinks in badly. You may be a strog woman, but right now, you just let yourself be a little girl for a while as you bawl your eyes out.

You run away into the train, picking a solitary spot after you yelled about needing to be alone. You just sit there in fetal position while you continue crying.

Zero will regain focus on the next update. What will he do? You are at the train, by the way.

We need information about the onslaught. How did it play out?

I feel like Kitten Snot is trying to push us onto some plot track or other. But I have no idea what it is.

I wonder how Zeds from different controlled hordes will react to each other? Not that any of Diane's lot will be a threat seeing as we will have twice the mutations.

Maybe try to comfort her? Girl's crying. You got to give her some space for a while, but after that she needs to get back to doing things and stop drowning herself in self pity for what she thinks she has lost. Let her know we wouldn't had done it if we had any other choice. Tell her that it was the only way we could repay her, after she saved us. Maybe even tell her that we need her.

Then we need some testing. Have her (and us, more importantly) see how great her new body is by taking it out for a "test drive" so to speak. Also explaint to her what we know she can do now, assuming she hasn't been altered differently.

Comfort Diane. Tell her we did what we did because we couldn't stand losing her. Which is in fact true.

I am tempted to point out that if she really doesn't want the worm that much, she is welcome to get rid of it, but the more tactful part of my mind claims that is probably not a good idea.

Comfort Diane. Tell her we did what we did because we couldn't stand losing her. Which is in fact true.

Do this, but reduce emphasis on what we wanted.  We don't want to come across like we did this to get a high-functioning minion to control.  We are still human enough to care about a friend and fear losing her, but more importantly, she looked like she wanted to go on living, and we had to give her that, this was the only way we could.

Point out that the upset she's feeling about this right now strongly implies that she's still herself.  Still human enough to be disgusted, and to worry about loss of control and identity.  Apologize for rocking her jaw when she came at us, and express relief that she did that rather than settle into automatic numb obedience.

Offer her some time alone to come to terms with this if that's what she needs, or to come back now.  It's her choice.  We'd like to have her with us, but as a friend, not a servant.

I'm still confused as to whether she is a love interest to us or not. We seem to be attracted to her, and it seems as though we would like the nice if mass murdering type.

I think we might be getting close to love but not to romance.  More of an Inigo Montoya and Fezzik type relationship.

...Heh, we're even muscled enough to be on the brute squad (we are the brute squad) while she's a blade user.

I was going to write awkwardly terrible fanfiction for Zero to put in his diary before that whole "Diane dying" update killed the mood for lightheartedness. It seems like every time we start getting complacent something horrible happens.

Also don't try and console Diane if she wants to be left alone.

I agree that we should give her some alone time if that's what she needs.  But I think that we should go to her and offer some brief encouragement first, then offer to leave for a while, if she wants us to.  That way we show that we care to come looking for her when she disappears and may need help, while giving her a choice and a reminder that she's not just a minion to be controlled, and thrown away when no longer useful.

I would just like to point out that we, on a thread about leading a sombie army, are discussing how to best comfort someone.
What's happened to you, DF forums?!
Anyway, my suggestion: give her a zombie puppy.
