Somewhat relevant, I once saw a Morrowind mod that added clothes to certain naked enemies in various mods.  Someone posted a comment saying something along the lines of "Posting to protest censorship, downvote this if you hate freedom"

Apparently censoring content in your personal copy of a game makes you Big Brother.

So the inverse would be "Upvote this if you love freedom"?

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. That little phrase just punched me in the back of my brain and I had to comment on it.

I'm sure I remember reading recently that one of the stronger swears in Italian (or maybe Spanish?) translates as "I shit on the Virgin Mary" or alternatively just "I shit on God". That's some pretty fucking good swearing.

Yes, he was referring to his comment, implying that a nudity-censor mod that only affects your own copy of the game is some kind of violation of freedom.

A nice one in Croatian is "I fuck a wagon of wheat, and on each grain a thousand of your gods".

How it's said in original, you mean? "Jebem ti vagon žita, a na svakom zrnu tisuću bogova."

I just spent a while trying to remember if Dutch has any good swears.

I don't think it does, the way I remember it everyone just used English ones.

The words "fuck" and "shit" actually seem to be understood in quite a few languages.

I wonder what, exactly, makes people so attached to vulgar words? It is so unbecoming when someone uses them self-assertively, to provide an ego-boost, or to describe mundane or trivial things where there are no justifications for them. I am not saying that these words in themselves are that terrible, but it is a pet peeve of mine when every third word or so muttered by a person have to be 'fuck', 'shit', etc.

Swedish doesn't have many good curses. We have almost no sexually loaded ones at all (not even the seemingly ever-prevalent variation or "your mother is a whore"), so most use of such comes off as humorous. The majority of rest of them is religiously themed, which carries next to no weight at all today. It's actually q rather bad language for cursing, when I think about it.

Estonian doesn't have any curse words that I know of, so young people just use English profanity. The older generation doesn't swear, generally.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

Depending on my mood, my vocabulary can be an elegant harmony of words, exquisitely arranged to create a wondrous verbal symphony of the English language, or a brutal fucking shitstorm of pointless goddamn vulgarity, spit out like the rotting corpse of a skullfucked whore from the putrid, festering mouth of Satan.

From what I've seen it makes them feel more important, I guess it's because they get more attention?

It was awesome when swedish news used finnish swear instead of swedish one. Finnish is such a great langue for swearing.
