Sparring

ok, I know this may sound noobish, but ive only ever seen 2 Dwarfs sparring at a time, but today, i found something out.
3 of my dwarfs are sparring, all at the same time, with eachother. I thought sparring was only for 2 dwarfs at a time, not more?

Rarely you can get groups of three, and I've heard tell of four-dwarf sparring matches.
