Quite a bit of time has passed since the time when I totally did not abandon
"You are in a Volcano", so decided to start a new thread. And just to recap:
You are a phoenix. A near-immortal magical creature of quite imaginable power, but having a lot of power anyway. A cross between a fire elemental and bird. Through your veins runs a substance whose closest non-magical equivalent is napalm and you are constantly radiating heat, thus violating the laws of thermodynamics. You are a creature of magic, and thus not bothered by such things as a requirement of food, air nor water, but you do like warm places.
Now for more specifics, your name is Eluc'dir the Eater of Dagon, you are a breed of phoenix known for being particularly in touch with their elemental side, you are capable of temporarily shedding your physical form, and becoming pure fire. If there was such a thing. Fire is more of a chemical reaction, so it would be weird to be that, but thats how the elements are set up, and you gotta follow them.
During your life you have destroyed a factory, that should not have existed in the setting of the story, and took a nice long nap to teenagerhood. You feel ready to take on the world! You feel like you could destroy anything! IT WILL ALL BURN! AHAHAHAHAHA!... I do believe you are experiencing the effects of the phoenix equivalent of hormones. Maybe you should take another nap until you are more mature? No? Fine. Have it your way.
(phoenixes have the uncanny ability to glow without actually lighting up the area)
You awaken from your slumber, feeling better than ever. Magma is more comfortable for sleeping in than one might think. You fly out of the volcano once more, but with some difficulty. The volcano expended everything it had in the explosion in which you were born, and is now cooling. There is already a layer of almost solid rock on top of the magma. You fly up into the sky, and see that the wind has for a large part gotten rid of the clouds of ashes, and brought with it the cold air you might expect from the north pole. Its seems you must travel south to warmer areas. But that sorta hard, since every direction is south from here.
Your getting older has unlocked knowledge deep within you. Apparently you are on something called a "planet", with a bunch of "continents" on it. And these continents have "places". On second though, you already knew all that crap from the start. Dont you look silly right now?
So, where do you wish to go?
-Venusia: An endless bog. Some say there are mountains and stuff too, but they are full of crap. All the locals are of a relatively low tech level, and easily manipulatable. You could buy gold for toothpicks there, heh, silly locals, valuing practical stuff over shiny rocks.
-Frozen hellhole: You are already here. Contains such wonderful things as ice, snow, and cold. Not the best place for a phoenix. Why the hell were you even born here?
-Ibatrea: The nondescript continent, features forests, mountains, clearings, swamps, the whole thing. Looks awfully like a starting area, and is way bigger than all the other continents.
-Helvarcis: Not really a continent, but a crapton of tropical islands. May or may not contain pirates. Hosts the highest tech humans on the planet, as they have mastered the art of building clocks and clocktowers, but they seem to have forgotten how to build bridges.
-Erentis: Almost as nondescript as Ibatrea, if not for the fact that it contains the last surviving goblins and elves. Considered the best place to go if you want to learn magic and/or get killed by goblins.
And on a different note, what do you actually want to do when you arrive?
Name: Eluc'dir the Eater of Dagon, a level 2 teenage phoenix
Health: [100/100]
Type: Elemental
Heat: Cold.
Traits:
- Elemental Phoenix: Phoenixes are technically already a crossbreed of birds and fire elementals and it is best to leave how that happened unspoken. But some Phoenixes have the ability to turn into a more powerful form, where they are composed purely of fire and gain a bit of size. Quite the fire hazard, but has the plus side of looking awesome and giving the ability to breathe fire, both literally and in the dragon-like fire breath way.
- Phoenix Immortality: Phoenixes are practically immortal, upon being killed they turn into ashes and upon collecting a sufficient amount of heat, are reborn.
- Fluffy Feathers: Phoenixes actually look quite cool, especially when they are filled with phoenix hormones. Possibly so cool that it inspires awe in people.
