Velociraptor! Cannibalism! is a card game of survival, mutation, and the occasional volcano.
Based on a crude understanding of natural selection, Velociraptor! Cannibalism! puts you in the role of a young, eager, and bright eyed heartless killer. As a velociraptor, you must find prey, survive environmental disaster, mutate, and steal the bodies of your enemies.

Updated main post so it is at least less-apparent that I wrote it at 4am on only two hours of sleep (which it effectively was, even though it was noon; I've got about 12 hours of sleep-debt still).

Having not actually read what was put up on the wordpress (it was written by another person and proofed by a third; I've been doing other things, like sleeping) I thought there was more info.

That said, here's some basics.

The game revolves around playing a raptor that hunts for food (cute little puppies and kittens!), gets attacked by the occasional predator (oh god, a zombie!), uses the calories you find to reproduce (eggs are victory points) or to mutate new body parts (drawn at random) and attack other players for their body parts or eggs.  Play continues until either the pot of victory goats eggs runs out, or the small stack of global events is exhausted (currently 10 cards, but initial play testing is indicating it should be smaller, especially for games with more people).

We've got photos of the cards as-they-were at 4pm on Sunday, but I've got to get a hold of the event's photographer in order to get those (and he's probably doing that for all five groups).

There was a demo on Sunday of all the project, so there (should be) footage of that.

It'll take a while for the organizers to sort through everything.

That was kind of the idea! XD

The jam's session was to design a game around the theme, the theme being a line-art graphic of Oroboros.*  I'd sort of showed up with the idea of doing a dinosaur game, and "cannibalism" was in the "what does this image make you think of" list, and I managed to get as far as "velociraptors eating each other, in the same vein as Off-road Velociraptor Safari."

When considering the base-phrase's darkness, we enjoyed the cognitive dissonance with the cute and fluffy.  So we took it, ran with it, and had way too much fun.

*Which is also not recognized by spellcheck >..x
