[176.38a] Caravans "lock" if they lose members

In my current fortress I have usually 3-4 goblins ambushers in a year, and usually they attack when the caravans arrive. If they kill some of the caravan's members before they arrive at the depot, they get stuck, not moving, not reaching the depot nor going away.

Maybe they killed the animals that were pulling the wagon or the driver?

One of the wagons was destroyed, but the others were fine. They just stood where they were when the wagon was destroyed.
