Playing the Wizard Tower mod afew versions ago, Made a giant city ontop of what started out as individual towers.....Then the game crashed and i forgot to turn on seasonal saves.

It's not so much that I fail at this megaproject, but that I've never quite figured out the logistics to START it:

I want to build an under-the-ocean city made of glass domes. Relatively easy in icy environments... but what fun is that? :P

Two words:
MOSES EFFECT
ie: Whole lotta screwpumps.
Alternatively drain the thing, build domes.  Refill.

I drew, graphed, and then began building my first megaproject in the waning days before DF2010. My goal was to dig out a massive map-spanning bowl, and then cast a suspended hexahedron within it from which to carve a fortress. It took forever just to plot out the edges of the bowl, and begin digging. My miners carved out thousands of stairwells, but I never quite made it to Collapse Day.
