Couldn't he lie and say that Toady needed another few weeks to accurately model how acid rain causes a Yak to melt or whatever.

The community would have epic raged at "a few weeks", then would have had a mass heart attack at the release.

Get the liveclick addon for firefox and then set up an rss folder on your bookmarks toolbar.
Then subscribe to the df blog and release rss feeds and put them in the rss folder.
Right click on the rss feed and change it to check for updates every minute.

You'll be instantly alerted to any updates within a minute and you can happily browse the forums without spamming f5 on the main page. It reminds me to read the new update every morning.

heheh, that was pretty trolltacular of him. If we want the release faster though, we should set up some sort of supply delivery. IE pay for constant pizza/drinks to be delivered to Toady, so he never has to leave his chair and stop coding. Like the way the dwarven medical care system supplies food.
