And as I mentioned, my (paper)dictionary, which is by no means an advanced one, has 27 distinct meanings listed for the verb in question. That doesn't look like an obscure word to me.

Also, I took the translation of parum from the OP, just saying I cannot verify it and he shouldn't take my translation directly when there are words I am uncertain of. Please, reread the post.
Yes, I have read it. Once again, if you can't find the definition, but somebody else provides it above, why not use it? Relying instead on definition provided by somebody with no knowledge in latin whatsoever, and conveniently absent from dictionaries, seems not to be helping much when the word he clung to is so emotionally loaded(he wanted to see "relationship" in there, looks to me)
Again, trying to help the OP, not you. Don't care about your pseudo psychoanalysis either. If he seems emotional to you, maybe because it's because HIS RELATIONSHIP IS AT STAKE. Way to go at being an insensitive prick. If I saw your post before I made the translation, I probably still would've ignored it, unless I myself could verify it, as I literally have no knowledge you whatsoever, or how you got those translations. And I didn't even take much time beyond looking at the sentence structure, literally because of the uncertain words. And if a lot is on stake for him, I would assume he took the utmost care with his research. Oh and, in case you haven't realised, to me there was only one translation available. Ninja.
So, with myself uncertain with that translation, I did the next best thing, and told him what it wasn't.
"parvus; -a; -um" is not an adverb, but an adjective. "parum" is either a noun or an adverb. (all of similar meaning)

Yes, I was listening to OP, and corrected his obvious misconception. The lanuage might be dead, but it doesn't mean that it gives us the right to make things up.

I stand by this statement. You were judging her ability, despite it being obvious(to me at least) that she knows Latin better than you do. If you were to support your statement with some observation about her mistakes, that would be a different matter altogether.
1. Where is your translation. I don't see you helping the OP here. The Latin is secondary, the advice is what's important :|
