In that case, would anyone mind if I selected a magic halberd for Anakha next time we reach town? After Zako's orb, we still have 807.8 gold in the bank. Perhaps I can find a not-terribly-expensive weapon to boost my potential.

Alright, here's what I'm thinking of:

Standard Action: Make a ranged basic attack using this weapon, even if it doesn't have the light thrown or heavy thrown properties. The weapon returns to your hands after the attack. either that or a frost weapon, which can turn any damage to cold and can slow any enemy as a daily power, or a vicious weapon for high-powered crits.

Vicious weapon seems terrible to me. You are paying... Like... 100-200 gold more then just standard magic weapon for a + 0.15 average damage per hit.

Actually, all the crit effects seem terrible, but a weapon even more focused on it is more terrible.

Alright, so cross the viscous weapon off the list. Cold halberd or throwable halberd? Or should I just get the old-fashioned Magic halberd?

Yeah, it's not like 3.5e where crits do 2-3 times as much damage and you can build around them.

If you want to build around crits you'll want to save up for a Jagged Weapon around level 12 or so. My fire sorcerer used a Incendiary jagged dagger as an implement in a crit build which focused on ongoing damage. He could hit and drop 15 ongoing fire damage and an additional 10 ongoing untyped from the dagger on crits in addition to doing 40-60 damage on hit, and had feats which applied a -4 penalty to saves against the ongoing fire.

Next Sunday is also going to be tough.  After that it's smooth sailling.  Tonight's game and next Friday's game are still fine.

Ehhhh, how much is the cold weapon exactly?

680gp. For a free action it can turn all damage dealt into cold damage (another free action to switch back) and for a daily power the target can take an extra 1d8 damage and become slowed. Not so useful, considering Aramil's ice spells that can hit from a distance. I decided that I'll get the throwable halberd, because it's cheaper, adds a distance attack to Anakha's purely melee movelist, and is just plain cool.
