Hmm, then again I was thinking of making a paladin. Extra defenders wouldn't hurt, right?

So far:

Fortis - Half Orc something
Criptfeind - Goliath Warden?(Defender)
Zako - Controller?(Controller)
Sirus - Dwarf Runepriest(Leader)
King of the Weasels - Half Elf something

That's 5.  We've got defender, striker, and leader, so one person should probably look toward being a controller, and then one can be whatever.  The book says the best role to double up on is defender but my inner wow player says striker.  Whatever the player wants though, all we really need is a controller.

As for the first job, you're walking through the streets of Crestport and see a flier saying to meet the constable if you're interested in making money on a potentially dangerous job.  By default, everyone finds the fliers and goes to the place separately, but if two or more agree to know each other beforehand that's fine.

Why did you discount poor old me? D:

I was hoping to make a controller of some sort, possibly human or eladrin. A wizard would be pretty cool to try. It looks like you guys need a controller anyway, so that would be something cool for me to try out.

Also, I managed to get my hands on copies of both Player handbooks, so I can learn the rules better.

Eh, changed my mind, I wanted to try out a tiefling paladin. I can have it minor in battlefield control if needed.

I just grabbed the first five people.

In another thread on this board, for those with little time for making a sheet from scratch, I found a generator that does 3.5e, 4e and Pathfinders.

I thought I was on the first five... Look back on the first page. If by the first five to post a character concept, then I was the 6th, and the only one to volunteer to be the only controller.

On second thought, as much as I'd like to play, I need to bow out. I've got too much to do already, and there are other people who want to play.

A question from the floor. The character builder I have has several arrays. Which one in particular is the standard one?

Oh shit, I hope I didn't guilt you into quitting, that would be horrible! If you honestly want to play, I'll of course bow out, I don't mean to be self centered or something.

I'm just gonna take the first five character submissions that make a decent party and aren't horrible (If in doubt, it's probably not horrible.  I've only seen two or three horrible character submissions before)

No way, I was thinking about it last night when I got off the computer and went to bed. Seriously, I'm back at college, running one game, and playing three more. Go ahead. I have enough on my plate.

Of course, if the results of the sessions are posted here, I'd like to read the exploits of the campaign.

I'm probably gonna go bard, rogue, possibly mage I'm taking a break from playing Dragon age 2 so I'll look over my books.

edit-Possibly artificer if you'd allow it, it's in the eberron books.  Mainly cause my character's an alchemist in pretty much everything.

Well, we do need a striker of some kind now, since the ranger left. That should be pretty cool for you since they seem to get the most limelight, so it shouldn't be boring for you. :P

Now to figure out the rules for making a character...
