Totally wasn't homosexual, he just stonewalled my poor anti-social WIZARD in the bar, then came after me saying that he's a nice guy whos 'just looking out for me'.

Anyone buy that? No? Me neither.

And are you sure it wasn't 555xp EACH? We are not getting screwed over like our payment. 20gp each for one job? Dammit.

Oh, and I got a crit with a spell. That was pretty cool. Almost all the other times, everyone rolled HORRIBLY. My god, the dice gods are angry, nay they are FURIOUS, today at us for some bizzare reason.

Yeah right. Next thing you will say is asking around for big burly men to go with you on a 'adventure' was totally innocent.

Well that was fun.

For anyone of the people who said they wanted us to post what happened:

We got together in town, Zako and King_of_the_weasels struck up a homosexual romance, we left town.

On the way to the next town, bandits.

I took like 3 times enough damage to kill me, but I am tanky and we have healers so I am okay. The orc killed a guy. The dwarf killed a guy. The only hit I got in was a AOO at the last bandit left alive as he ran away.

I killed 2 guys, but apparently that wasn't worth adding...

Also Mahtan and Face Taker are clearly THIS, not gay (Atleast Mahtan isn't).

5 rabbles = 31 each so 155
2 bandits = 125 each so 250
1 guard =  150

So 555 xp, yup.

Well he doesn't talk to people much, so he doesn't really know HOW exactly he should talk to them. Anyway, he's dedicated to his studies and research too much to take much interest in other people. And he wasn't asking about taking them on an 'adventure', just some help for a job. Nothing more than that.

Also I killed a minion with magic missile. Happy happy fun joy.

Summary:

The PCs got a quest from the constable.  The people still hanging out at buckstead flats are being harassed by people or animals or something else, and the PCs have been sent to deal with it.

On the way there the carriage got attacked by bandits but they fought them off.

It took way too fucking long.

I'm going to work on taking care of that.  I'm gonna add extra states to track buffs, add some new token properties that probably should have been there, and I'll look into porting power cards in some form or another to maptool so we can more easily track what's going on.

As we ease into the routine things should start going more smoothly.

That's one of the couple of drawbacks to 4.0  you've got all these great moves, but then you have to track them.  Pretty much why I like planning campaigns and adventures, but I never run them.

So do we each get 555 xp, or just 111 xp each? I'm still not clear on that bit.

111 each.  You level up at 1000xp, and 4e tries to make sure you level up around 8-10 encounters.

Sounds good to me. 111xp is a perfectly respectable amount for slaying a bunch of bandits.

If you take a five minute rest (During which you can't do anything strenuous), you regain your lost encounter powers and can spend as many of your remaining surges as you want.  If you use an encounter power to heal yourself further then you have to take another rest to regain that power.

If you take a 6 hour rest (And you can only do this once every twelve hours), then you completely reset everything (Full HP, reset surges, get all your encounter and daily powers back, etc).

You get one action point every two encounters completed without an extended rest.  Don't be afraid to use them, your action points are reset to 1 if you take an extended rest.

Speaking of, are we taking an extended rest as we finish the carriage ride, or did it not last 6 hours?

The carriage is down a horse and stuck in the mud, it's not going anywhere.  The town is only ten minutes away anyway.

If you guys want we can deal with the roleplaying here so we can get straight to the part that takes a long time once we're in the game
