I believe Shoruke said in one session 'that's my skill trick for the day' after he did something (can't remember what, but knowing Rudra it was probably use a Knowledge check for something) so I think they're in. I don't know any, though. ^^^;
Not only do I use skill tricks, I have a Prestige class with a somewhat broken class feature that has skill tricks as a prerequisite... so yeah I think they're in  :P

I'm building an animal companion themed character, and was wondering if anyone cared if there was another petal on the battlefield (mainly Sky). At this level I have 3 animal companions, one of which will be a dire wolf that I ride around everywhere. Before you ask, yes I will macro out everything beforehand, because 3 animals and a tiny druid might need some macro work so no one is facedesking when my turn rolls around. The druid probably won't be doing much past directing the animals, and maybe the odd low-level heal.

Araph, if you want we can collaborate on how my character knows your three.

EDIT: I'll link the sheet when it has some feats and stuff, but I find it amusing that he has 170 hp at level 14. For someone that isn't going to be at the front-lines he definitely has a lot of HP.

Do we need any more crafters? I have a bunch of feats to burn since spell-casting is all but useless after 8 levels in a non-spellcasting class.

Here's Ohen Gale.

He dreams of being a master chef, and is constantly looking for epic-level recipes to try out.

There is still 2 feats open if we need some kind of crafting.

That is quite a bit. o.O

@Theo: OK, did two more drafts. What do you think of these?

Woah. The left one is pretty much perfect. It's exactly what I wanted.

I took Vow of Poverty from Book of Exalted Deeds, which isn't great at this point, but I really don't want to deal with magic items for so many characters. Ignore Ohen when calculating gold for a session. With the exception of VoP and Exalted Companion you can basically ignore the exalted feats I took since the effects are flavorful, but not very good.

Natural Bond from Complete Adventurer counters 3 levels of effective druid level loss from taking a different animal companion. The wording that says that the effective druid level is lowered is in the druid animal companion description. Just thought it was important to say that now rather than in session if it came up.

Exalted Companion (also from BoED) was used to apply celestial templates to all of them.

I've finished 2 of the animal companions, but there is going to be a wolf as well. Their names are from the people he knew in the cooking academy. :P

Ohen Gale, Chef Extraordinaire
Emeril the Celestial Dire Wolf
Ramsey the Celestial Dire Bat
Rachael the Celestial Wolf (Mostly blank, but I linked it anyways)

Er, I doubt that character's going to be allowed, Fool. Or at least allowed in the sense of letting you use more than one animal companion at a time. Sky's already busted us down to one character for an encounter; all those would basically give you four running around...

That's why I said that I would have to macro out everything. The reasoning behind the 1 character limit was for balance though. If you look at the animal companions they are a lot weaker than a standard PC from our team. The only exception might be the dire wolf because it likes to trip people. It's really up to Sky I suppose.

Maybe you could sneak around it by only bringing one at a time?

And animal companions are not, I believe, supposed to match PC's in power. In theory. :P

Balance is an issue (or perhaps not considering last mini-session Rae was oneshotted and over-killed at -57 HP on the enemy's very first attack, which was also strong enough to one-shot and over-kill Toman - who has the highest HP in the party at 205) but I think her main point was that having so many characters makes it take a long time to run combat.

Maybe just Emeril and Ramsey? I was hoping to ride around on the dire bat's head while Emeril went off on a tripping party. The dire bat is more of an epic mount than anything, so it will move with Ohen and probably stay out of attack range unless someone charges him in flight. If no one else needs crafting I'll fill the other feats with other things.

Spring has not only sprung, it has Leap Attacked, Bluffed, and fired off a couple dozen point-blank shots before retreating with Mobility and Spring Attack!

In case you're wondering what the hell that meant, I mean my family has spontaneously decided to go on a spring trip for Wednesday ~ Friday to the City of the Winds. Therefore, I come back home at 10 pm EST which is impossible to have a session. Does Western Marches have a session Saturday? If not, I don't think there will be a large clashing problem of times, but if so . . .

Anyways, does Saturday 12 pm. EST work for everyone? o_O

Also ... uh ....

I never count the number of characters. I count the number of players, and each player only gets one split of the gold. That player can then distribute the money among his characters however he wants.

main point was that having so many characters makes it take a long time to run combat.

Correct! xD

Also, about Nymph's Kiss, is there any reason NOT to take it? o_O I remember it being a very good feat for some reason... Heh.

last mini-session Rae was oneshotted and over-killed at -57 HP on the enemy's very first attack, which was also strong enough to one-shot and over-kill Toman - who has the highest HP in the party at 205)

I removed Collision from the kobolds' lances >.> On average, 15 less damage, and on crits 45 less damage. It still is 126 damage on a critical.
The weird thing about the Trail's End world is that psionics is absent, but psionic enhancements aren't :P Doesn't matter much though . . .

Trailsend. TrailSend. I wonder if that could be used as a name for somewhere ...

Now I better go update the NPC thread.

I can make it on Saturday, but I think there is a Western Marches session as well. As much as I dislike saying it I've missed enough Western Marches sessions that I may as well be here instead. Seriously though I think the last session that I played in Western Marches was a good month and a half ago. One problem with a story driven campaign is that if you start to lose track of it, it gets harder and harder to catch up to what happened. Most of the time I have nothing to say because I have no idea what my character should know anymore.

One downside to Nymph's Kiss is that you need to stay in touch with the fey you have a relationship with or else you lose the feat and can't replace it. My character is going to be writing letters to a dryad every week or two. It's really up to the DM whether or not it's necessary, but it makes for good character flavor.

So I can use my animal companions as long as I don't slow things down too much? I think I'll have to think about what is reasonable, because 4 animal companions (in 2 levels) would most likely be too many, even with organized macros. I might even have to take more levels in another class if I can't use them all at once.

EDIT: I just realized that Ohen doesn't have any magic items. He literally can be introduced in the building that everyone is passing through. I think I'll just write him in. He doesn't even need an escort. :P

I can make it.

Sho's game usually doesn't start to 6, and this game doesn't usually go on longer than that. If it does, I'd rather miss the very start of Western Marches than the end of Trails end.

So Ohen wasn't dragged along with everyone else? I'm unsure if I should write something for him or not since it wasn't stated what exactly happened.
