Hmm, OK. I don't actually need Invisible spell, I had that left on the notepad I was copying links down on. ^^^; It could be useful for Rudra, maybe? Does he have a lot of ranks in hide/move silently? In any case, good to know. I guess I'll need to pick up a flaw to get Explosive Spell, maybe two for Repeat Spell or just wait until level 12.

@Dwarmin: I guess I'll be buying that for Toman later, then. He needs all the initiative he can get.

Well,  to actually be stealthy you need two feats : invisibility and silent spell. That means Rudra will have to spend a full-round action to cast a spell ... not to mention the somatic parts.

@Anyone who might know: Would having multiple Warning weapons stack initiative bonuses or not?

Nope.

Off the top of my head, it's an insight bonus and...

Quote
An insight bonus improves performance of a given activity by granting the character an almost precognitive knowledge of what might occur. Multiple insight bonuses on the same character or object do not stack. Only the highest insight bonus applies.

Now, I recall there is a another +1 weapon enchant that gives an extra 2 to init and damage rolls on the first round, and that's an enhancement bonus. So that would stack with Warning.

I'll chime in sometime later today. Playing alot of maptools tends to distract me from the forums proper...like my own game...

Also, in remembrance of Dragon Luck.

Quote
Luke:   Heal: 14
* Kanesrae moves to aid Luke, granting +2 to skill checks.
* Wheatly stops bleeding, but is not conscious yet.

...

Riawilde:   ((I'd like to point out Kane has to pass 10 point check to aid another :P ))
Luke:   "I think... I think he'll be alright."
Riawilde:   ((you know, just because.))
Skyrunner is disconnected.
Kanesrae:   (Hmm....)
Kanesrae:   « 1d20 = 10 »
Kanesrae:   (:P)
You have disconnected.

Note, it takes a 15 to stabilize, and Kanes failed the aid another check by one.

It was something like that. For the whole session. :(

OK, I'll get to work on it soon. I think I'll have to either not make my own image or give up on the idea of a cutebold character. My editing skills fail me. ;_; Well, if I keep at it maybe one day I'll figure out how to do a decent muzzle and fur-sort of appearance.

Would this work?

It took a while to draw, but I think it's in FE's style. The sprite is roughly as tall as most of the kid sprites for reference.

...I have been humbled Shieky old-school style. It looks exactly like the cutebolds people have posted here. ^^^; If anything I might edit it later to have more of a cat-nose and whiskers, but other than that it's pretty spot on.

I based it on a google image search, and some had DF tags on the image, so I'm not surprised that it looks like ones that people have posted here.

Here is an edited picture with a cat nose, and some dots for whiskers.

Rudra doesn't really need stuff to hide his spellcasting; he has a skill trick (usable either once per minute or once per encounter) to conceal his spellcasting with a Sleight of Hand check. +14 to Sleight of Hand isn't so bad, and spot/listen checks get a -1 penalty for every 10 feet of distance, so... We're more or less good there.
He's also got a skill trick to trick people into thinking he's casting a different spell (when they use Spellcraft checks), but that's... of limited use, unless I meet a wizard with too many different spells and nothing better to do than counterspell.

As for a Quarterstaff of warning, that'd be great! Wizard duels tend to be an initiative fight, and whoever wins isn't reduced to ash. Battlefield control also works better when you have the upper hand in initiative, so +5 init is great.

My current pog is fine for now, but I appreciate the offer, your work is great  :D

Just now saw Fools' edit. That's pretty nice, but I may make further modifications of my own. ^^^ I might stick with Anya as the FMM since I've already wrote up her fluff, and save the idea of cutebold Sorcerer to be yet another reserve. Also, no problem shoruke, the offer will stay on the table should you want it some time in the future. ^^^

Welp, I'll charge 4500G to make a +1 warning quarterstaff Sho. Of which, 3000 is what Is the minimum need to make it, and the rest profit for Ria.

The same offer goes for everyone! I'll slap it on every ones dagger or other weapon you specify otherwise, you really just have to come up with the 3000, and I can add it to your unused or backup weapon.

You can actually delay paying me the profit part if you can't pay in full, of course.

Edit: I just thought about it-this is assuming Sky requires an existing plus +1 to put the Warning enchantment on. If not, I could do it for 2000 less.

Editedit: Welp, solved that.

I think I'm going to have to find a feat, or a spell, or something to scribe a spell into a spellbook with decent speed or while sleeping or something. 24 hours inscription time is pretty ludicrous.

I also might need a feat or something to make my character able to "invent new spells" on his own faster. There's the stuff on DMG 198, but that's not really what I need. The short version of that passage is "you spend one week per spell level, and 1,000 gp per week, you must be in a library/mage guild all that time, then you roll a spellcraft check, and THEN your DM tells you if your homebrew spell is legal or not". I need something more like "you take a few days/weeks off and figure out how to do this spell that you've seen/heard of/thought up".
Apparently that's the only way wizards can create new spells on their own. Other than that, there's levelling up, and scribing stuff into your book that's already written down somewhere.

Got any thoughts about homebrewing a feat or something for this, Sky?

As for the staff, my current quarterstaff isn't even masterwork. It is a stick. I use it for attacking housecats without provoking an AoO, and also to demonstrate to people at a distance that I am a spellcaster.

A stick!?

I am creating a masterpiece! Lovingly described, of course.

Quote
This gleaming, green hued Ironwood quarterstaff is long and strong-almost 6 ft tall and about half the width of a mans wrist, it's easy to carry, yet seems to have a surprising amount of heft behind its swing, enough to crush an Orcs skull-and yet, it seems the weapon, while not fragile, was designed for more subtle and intricate use, and the thought of doing something so crude, with a weapon so beautifully designed, seems mildly revolting to you.

It resembles not so much a crude wood carving, as a living oak branch crafted to fit comfortably in your hands. A topaz shard carved into a rough hexagon adorns the top of the staff, glowing with a deep red inner light, as if a living flame was trapped within. Also, Four carved green glass orbs, in the shape of Eagle's eyes lie equally spaced around it's head in an equilateral fashion, and when you hold it you cannot help but feel prescient-as if you are no longer merely limited to the five senses.

Along the length of the staff, are inscribed the words 'Thosaerdoles', in a flowing, precise script-the name of the weapon in Elvish...

'Firebringer'

You spend 1 day per two spell levels in a library/mages guild. The time spent may be interrupted; the mage need only spend 8 hours to count as a day. Before researching, the spell is to be approved by the DM. After that, the DM will set a spellcraft DC. If the spell is not legal, the DM will notify you beforehand.
After being approved, the mage does 1 spellcraft check per day. If the spellcraft check fails, increase the needed time by 1 day.

Something like that better?

The library in question can be set up on Alatria... Specially since the DMG didn't specify it had to be a arcane library :P

Also, I think there should be some cost incurred, not sure how much.

EDIT : Does anyone know what the Tomb of Horrors is? O_o
