Yeah, I'll be able to join tonight whenever we start. Marches is having connection issues.

Right, all we need is SerCon to confirm status and Skyrunner to start and we''ll have ourselves a party.

Aussie, EC? Anyway, (I think I said it in the last thread?) I'm available pretty much 24/7; the only times I'm not are Monday/Wednesday from 5:30-9:15 for college classes... and sometimes I might opt-out to do my homework instead. :P So whenever is good for me. And yeah, I'm definitely in for today. ^^^ Goldurn ninjas...

Ah, OK. Just curious. :) I have a couple of Aussie friends on here who are like 13-15 hours ahead of me, so that's what I thought you meant.

We need no healer. If I ever get to a session. As a Warlock I am fully capable of healing the party.

Having two healers never hurts :3

A lv10 Cleric with the Healing domain can cast a huge bunch of Cure spells...

Also, 8 o'clock should be the expected time of starting. You might want to be in the Freenode channel in advance.

Question; What are you all's stance on level-appropriate encounters? Is it okay if there are a few encounters that are very difficult?

I don't have a guy ready still. So I would like encounters easy enough for me to win without playing.

As long as the rewards match up.  ;D

Just take in account how squishy our party is. Even SC is little more than an damage sponge.

Yeah, if yesterday's Captain had more than a rapier, someone would be dead by now ;3

Today's Session:

About 4 hours long.

12 or so Bladelings killed
1 Eye of Fear and Flames destroyed
1 Frost Salamander killed
1 Darktentacle slayed
Some traps encountered.
Roughly 16000 sp and 1 gp gained
1 red gem
1 arcane key

Encounter with 1 Lammasu, 3 Giant Owls.

TheFool's character is being cornered. An angry Lammasu is squeezing into the corridor to attempt to find TheFool. SerCon(K) and Dwarmin (Tali) are watching.

Before that: The Bladelings were mowed down. The Eye of Fear and Flames almost killed TheFool. The Darktentacles made a great out-of-context quote- "Darktentacles:Charm person! Charm person! Charm person!"

TheFool realized he was an outsider, and exempt from the spell. K was crushed by a tentacle but survived.

=============

How was the session?
What do you think could be improved on?
How would the party get out of this situation?

If it brushes past me I'll run into the bigger room, shoot it, and hide again. It may take some time, but I can kill them all.

EDIT:
1. I thought you didn't know D&D monsters well at first because of the bladelings, but then there were traps. Then monsters jumped difficulty. Now I'm voluntarily fighting an encounter alone. I think the session went well, and that you're a fantastic DM. I haven't ever seen such a beautiful dungeon with such balanced encounters.

2. Since I loved the session, I would have to say that not much was wrong. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

3. Lammasu is weak enough, and I should be able to take him down in a few hits, but getting past him might be interesting. If I'm found hopefully someone will step in.

I think the session went great. Really fun!

Also, for the quandary?

Attacking the Lamassu is an evil and chaotic act, harming a genuinely good being and breaking the law

Helping the Lamassu is an evil and Lawful act, serving up justice but betraying our friend

Doing nothing is evil and neutral, since we're leaving our friend to his fate, but not getting involved.

Catch-22!

Now, Tali is CN. Which she means she's perfectly ready to either backstab the Lammasu or let him tear our friend apart, but wont directly help it.

Kansrae is NG, which means any choice she makes will violate one of her ethos. Ouch. :P
