Reading!

Quote
Crafted from the bones of dragons, dragonbone adds to the quality of items crafted from it. Dragonbone items are crafted from the bones of elder dragons, whose flesh and bones have become steeped in magic. The bones of younger dragons are often useful for magical rituals and as components in crafting magic items, but they do not the possess the extraordinary qualities of true dragonbone. Weapons fashioned from dragonbone have a natural enhancement bonus to attack and damage depending upon the age of the dragon from which the bone came. In addition, the bones of dragons which were slain in battle are more efficacious than those from dragons which died of natural causes, which is an almost unheard of fate for dragons: most dragons depart the Prime Material Plane long before their flesh begins to fail due to age.

Daggers and other small, bladed weapons are the most common item crafted from dragonbone, but clubs, morningstars, and maces are not unknown. Dragonbone bows are highly prized for they are considered mighty bows permitting a strength bonus equal to that of their enhancement bonus. Some say that the dragonstaves are fashioned from the larger bones of very ancient dragons. Weapons and armor fashioned from dragonbone are treated as masterwork items with regard to creation times, but the masterwork quality bonus does not affect the enhancement bonus of weapons (except as noted below). The natural enhancement bonus from dragonbone does not stack with any other enhancement bonus.

Dragonbone weapons have a natural enhancement bonus based on the age of the dragon they were taken from, ranging from +1 for Old dragons to +5 for Great Worm dragons. Bones of dragons which died of natural causes have their inherent bonus reduced by 2, thus only the bones of such Ancient dragons or older grant a natural enhancement bonus. However, dragonbone items which are fashioned from the bones of Old or Very Old dragons which died of natural causes can still affect creatures affected only by silver weapons and ethereal creatures but grant only a masterwork bonus to attack and damage rolls.

In addition to their natural enhancement bonus, when wielded, dragonbone items provide a natural resistance bonus to Fortitude and reflex saving throws based on the type of dragon the bones came from. The resistance bonus is equal to the natural enhancement bonus of the dragon bone item. Black (acid), Blue (electricity), Green (poison), Red (fire), White (cold), Brass (fire), Bronze (electricity), Copper (acid), Gold (fire/poison), Silver (cold/poison).
It is rumored that dragonbone items fashioned from the bones of especially ancient or especially powerful dragons sometimes confer additional bonuses, such as a natural luck bonus (gold dragon).

Spear. V's logic was right.

Oh, yeah - (goes to edit NPC thread post) - you got a prize for getting it wrong.

Spear. V's logic was right.

Do you mean this part?

Now we have the possibility of a natural 20, which would mean an automatic hit.

Or this part?

...the possibility of the woman Bull-Rushing the man and his arm being knocked back? Thus, the Shield has not withstood the attack, but neither was it smote by the spear.

Or some other part?

Yes, natural 20.

Will The Saint have an introduction, or is he assumed to be with the party? It would be cool to have an introduction where the area around him is teeming with life, but that's just me.

If level adjustment buy-out is alright I'm level 10 with an ECL of 10, otherwise I'm level 9 with an ECL of 11. I have no idea what that would even affect beyond EXP for crafting. Maybe CR for spell effects?

@Fool - You can introduce him if you want.

...Uh, I think LA adjustment buyout is in.

@SerCon

Looking at some of the portraits of FE, I can almost tell where some of the characters came from :3 For example, I found Toman.

((Still, I like your pogs! <3))

@Everyone
I'm worried that optimizing the enemy will make for a long drawn-out unfun fight... but underoptimizing has resulted in quick deaths...

Tell me: is having a high HP detrimental to an encounter ? (As in, say a human fighter has 230 hp)
What about high ACs? High saves?

Over-optimization has its pitfalls. I nerfed Toman's AC because, as I mentioned, at 35 no enemy was targeting him in melee ever. He has a large amount of HP that was basically sitting there, unused, and that meant he was failing in his role in the party. Anyway, for enemies, I would prefer an enemy with a ton of HP over one with a high AC/SR/Saves. At least with HP we can whittle it down eventually, but with a high defense, we have to rely on luck more than skill, character build, or tactics, which isn't as fun or satisfying. Sure, it might be nice to finally get that nat 20 and crit for the kill on an enemy with like 9/9 HP but 45 AC / 39 SR / +15 saves, but it feels more like 'about damn time, finally' than 'hell yeah we won,' if you know what I mean.

Also, indeed. I didn't change Toman's face much at all, but I gave him new hair and armor. :3 Rae is probably the character with the highest amount of customization/editing of all the pogs I've done for this. ^^^

I want to introduce the Saint in one of the next few rooms, but I'm not sure of how you'd activate an ancient robot. Toman's presence might do it since he appears CE though. I'll go with that.

Skyrunner, could you PM me what room would be appropriate to introduce him in? I don't want to place him in a room where something else is suppose to happen.

I really don't know where people got the CE thing from. ^^^; The Black Knight feat doesn't say it comes off as CE and in fact negates the fact you need to be some form of Evil to wear Demon Armor without penalties, meaning Paladins could be BKs if they wanted, and Toman's armor is a gold dragon which is LG and he himself is CG... Anyway, maybe Toman could just recognize the symbol of St. Cuthbert on the Saint and accidentally activate him. Or intentionally, if in this lore things like the Saint are common enough creations of followers of St. Cuthbert that he would understand what it is and that it would help. (1d20+1 Bardic Lore roll go! :P Also for some reason now I'm picturing the Saint as the main character of Actraiser.)

I thought he had Demon Armor. Demons are CE, so I simply assumed it would reflect that. Lets go with the symbol of St. Cuthbert then.

Knowledge (Arcana) check to figure out how to activate Warforged? We've got two wizards, an NPC cleric, a spirit shaman, a spirit detective, and an existentially-challenged favoured soul. Someone should be able to figure you out  :P

Is there a monk ability thing from some sourcebook that makes them be able to use magic-esque attacks? I remember reading that somewhere, but I don't know where.
